Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

I had to set my alarm for 3a.m. for her meds but she went back to sleep . She has had her morning meds and has gone under the bed and wont come out , I think she hates me for putting her buster collar on and giving her loads of tablets and liquids but she has to have them . She was a little unsettled last evening but slept pretty well, unlike us ! Reubs is at playgroup today , then a Vets check at 11 , then a nap I thinks as I feel mentally exhausted and quite distressed still at what has happened to Nelly . I wish I could get that horrible scene out of my head so I might just watch some rubbish daytime tv and try to block it out . The good thing is that Nelly is walking about well on her three legs but it should not have been like this, poor little darling xxx

Oh Kate I’ve just read the whole of this thread and can’t quite believe it. How horrendous for you and Nelly. I’m not surprised your still distressed. I was relieved to read Nelly was home and walking. It’s amazing how dogs adapt. I hope you find the owners detail and can report her. She should not be walking that dog and if she does it should be muzzled. How irresponsible to have a dog like that uninsured at least third party. It makes me so cross people haven’t a clue what their dog is capable of doing. Murphy was once on the end of a mastiff attack. In his case it was two of them one slipped its lead and the other joined in on lead. It’s terrifying. Murphy was lucky he got away. I hope all goes well at the vets today. All my love to you all.

It's not surprising you feel like you do Kate, you and Nelly have been through an awful time over the last few days. Rubbish TV sounds like a good idea, nothing too taxing! Take time to look after yourself as well as Nelly, who will come out from under the bed in her own time. Joy did this after she was attacked, it must feel like a safe place. Thinking of you. xxx
