Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

the barrage of antibiotics
Yes, such fantastic lifesaving things but even they have side effects :puke: can make you feel very very nauseous xx

Honey though - that's got to help I should think.
I know you know what you are doing Kate, but once when Cass had a funny few days the vet advised egg scrambled with nothing added and hand fed, which worked.
Also someone told me years ago that a dash of Lea and Perrins with hot water to release the anchovy smell can be good.

Just some thoughts!

Hoping the lovely roast chicken aroma wafting through the house will help! Having to take so many tablets may affect her appetite, especially if she is being hand fed, which is understandable.

Nelly refused food again yesterday afternoon which is so worrying as she desperately needs to eat for strength to fight . I got some raw minced steak out of the freezer last night and this morning she has eaten four very small pieces thank goodness . I have cooked chicken, cold turkey and corned beef to offer her later when she wakes .
The woman who gave me the name of the mastiff owner rang me last night to give the full address and assured me that they were certainly in a position to pay the Vet bill , they live in a 1 million pound house , own several horses and run a holiday let amongst other businesses , it makes me feel sick to the stomach . There is such kindness when so many have offered genuine help for Nelly who has touched the hearts of so many and yet they can be so damned cruel . Our little love has a long road to recovery ahead but we are ever hopeful for her and thank everyone for help and support, it means so much xxx

Vet Sue has just called me , she had taken a swab from the wounds and has just had the result to say that the infection is resistant to the antibiotics she has been on for 6 days and so the correct one had been ordered and will be at the surgery when she has a check up tomorrow . Thank goodness she took that swab , the extra antibiotic Sue gave her on Monday is helping a little but is also quite resistant so fingers crossed she will soon respond to the new one x
I`m sorry to keep posting but it does help to keep things in perspective xx

Oh no Kate. I am so sad for you. You and her have been through so much. You have tried so hard for your darling Nelly. You are both in my thoughts xxx
