New Toffee Thread

Yesterday's comment about them travelling well together in the car came back to bite me on the bottom today , they were absolutely awful. A half hour drive each way in the car with them playing bitey face, then squabbling, with Toffee squealing as he got nipped. Then TOGETHER they dug up the blankets and started tearing up the rubber mat and eating it. This was just on the way there.
My daughter's partner took Ripple training, and me and my daughter took Toffee for a walk, then we had some lunch. So on the way back I expected them to be tired, but no, we had a repeat performance including Toffee rolling round on his back biting Ripple's chin, and then Ripple virtually squashing Toffee by laying across him.
When we got home Toffee was promptly sick everywhere, then, of course, ate it again while I was trying to clear up :puke:.

I've had a couple of hours recovery time now and am beginning to feel a bit more sane  but I hope I don't get a repeat performance of that any time soon.

Aww @SteffiS that sounds like a trying day... however at least it sounds like Toffee and Ripple are getting on a bit better, even if they are turning into partners in crime. Toffee seems like he's a bit bolder and starting to play more with Ripple.

Actually they were also very good at lunch. It's just the car thing, there's nothing you can do when you're driving, and my daughter felt car sick keep turning round to see what they were doing.

I've been trying to give the boys more time together in the hope that they might settle quietly in the same room rather than causing a riot.
So far this has been interesting to say the least. We've had a lot of biting, a lot of really rough play, things have got broken, somehow they managed to partially dismantle my dining room table and smash the baby gate off the door at the weekend.
Today, despite giving them around 20 toys, they both wanted the same squeaky ball  . Chaos, which just culminated in an overexcited Toffee weeing all over the floor.

I'm assuming at some time they will eventually settle together :hmm: .

@SteffiS We have the wild stuff here too . Despite being tiny , Nelly holds her own and is very often the instigator of the rough stuff . We do let them play but when we think its getting too wild , leads are employed , just for a short time until they have calmed down . I can empathise re wanting the same toy ! x

@kateincornwall at least your two were more or less matched in size to start with . I've always been frightened of Ripple hurting Toffee as he doesn't seem to have any boundaries, which is one of the reasons they are separated by gates and pens the majority of the time. Today Toffee kept squealing but he still went back for more, but I don't like to hear that noise.
After about 20 minutes it still wasn't calming down so I went for a 'scatter' game, immediately followed by Toffee weeing . I'm sure we will get there in the end, not sure if I'll have much house left by then though :shake: .
