Nisha and Talía (Negreta and Lulú).... a journey.

Are you getting both of them @snowbunny
Yes. Totally bonkers, but yes. We probably won't bring them home Thursday, as we have some other things to do, but they will legally be ours then!

I was thinking of setting up a FB page journalling their progress (which we will hopefully see). I need a name for it! As well as new names for both dogs :D

I like Nisha and Gaia but J doesn't seem too keen.

But I'd love to hear any suggestions for a page name. Readdddyyyyyyy...... steadddddyyyy..... GO!

Oh, also, as much as I'm pretty confident in how to approach working with these dogs, there's no denying that they are more extreme than anything I've ever dealt with previously, so I'm putting the feelers out to see if I can find someone with a LOT of experience working with this level of fearfulness to help with talking through their particular cases. Because however much you think you know, it's never weak to ask for assistance from people with more knowledge than you. Jo-Rosie has said she's interested, and she has a lot of shelter experience, so I'm hoping that will pan out :)

Question - will you be using any of the prescription drugs you have used with Willow to help at the beginning at least?
Hah! Actually none of them are prescription drugs here (yes, Prozac and gabapentin are OTC here) 😂
I certainly want to get them on meds ASAP. I will do it through my vet here obviously, and there’s a different SSRI I want some advice on having heard some stuff about it. But, yes, meds are going to be a first line of attack for these dogs 😊

They are home!

It's been a long, tiring, and very stressful day for everyone. I will update tomorrow as I have to catch up on some work now. But they are home, and in a couple of days, the real work can begin.

We have new names for them. Negreta is Nisha (nee-shah) which means "Night" in Sanskrit and Lulú is now Talía (tal-ee-ya), which is "morning dew".

As well as here, I will be documenting their journey on a FB page here: Courage Doesn't Always Roar
