Nisha and Talía (Negreta and Lulú).... a journey.

How are the girls @snowbunny
Thanks for asking, I really need to take more video but I've been run off my feet!!

They're doing well. No significant improvements in the last few days. I spent a fair amount of time with them at the weekend; we strimmed the very long grass in their area before they arrived, but a couple of times Talia has squeaked when moving around and once when putting her head down to snuffle out a biscuit and we realised that some of the strimmed tufts were quite spiky, so I spent hours over the weekend digging some of those up. I don't want it to become a mud bath when it rains, so we then shredded some young olive branches to make some chips to cover some of these spaces. It seems to be OK for now, and come the spring if they're still in there, we'll get some grass seed in to get them a better cover.

There was one thing of note happen today. We always feed them a chicken carcass, chicken back, pig foot or similar at lunchtime. The house dogs all absolutely love this and get SO excited for it. The ladies have started to anticipate it now, too. As I walked towards their enclosure, Nisha was barking (because Nisha) but she ran straight towards us, dancing and bouncing from excitement. So although she is still very nervous of us, it's lovely to see how something like that has brought her some happiness. :)

That sounds so good. Would love to see more videos when you have the time please
I was hoping to get Ginny in with them today but time got away from me, and daylight seems in short supply at the moment!!

Oh, the other thing that happened was that on Sunday morning when I went over for our mid-morning visit, Talia was so happy to see me, more than normal, and was really bouncy. So I did a bit of "piano hands" play on the floor and she came over and booped my hand with her foot. She did the same again today! I'd love to get that on video so I can look at her body language properly when she's doing it, but it seems like fun at the time :)

@snowbunny, what attracted you especially to Nisha when she was in the rescue home?
She just has so much of Willow in her. She has the same intensity of expression, the same “edge”, and is really brave even though she’s afraid. Knowing where Willow was with her fearfulness and how far she has come, I just knew that I could help fix some of that in Nisha, too. No-one deserves to live in fear.

Ooooh! Can't wait to see it! (Drums fingers impatiently!)
Haha, sorry! I've now uploaded it to YouTube but for the FB page it's best if I upload directly to FB. I should have done that first. Bad Fi!

So, because I love you all, I will give you the YouTube vide first and then post the link to the FB post after so you can get my commentary. In the meantime, feel free to add your own!
