Not a good guard dog

Oh my goodness, how brave you were! It happened to my cousin as well, the burglar was coming up the stairs, so she told him to get out! I hope you haven't suffered from delayed shock x

How scary! I hope the police track down the burglar through your phone app.

Just going down to double lock the front door...

You are so brave @JES72!

Definitely new and better locks. Our house is like Fort Knox as hubby is paranoid about security.

Homer did what he was told so that's a good thing. Maxx barks like anything if anyone even comes up our driveway. He sounds ever so ferocious. We had home delivery Thai last night and the poor delivery boy looked terrified at the sound coming from upstairs

How awful, hope you can recover quickly from this horrible experience.
Very brave girl to run after the ******. But be careful, some junky burglars are not with it, and can be dangerous. But easy to understand your reaction when your home is invaded.
Warm and kind thoughts to you.

PS Our boy seems to notice people/dogs moving past our house, even when he can't see them. I've no idea how as the walls are thick with insulation and there is quadruple glazing. Maybe twice a day he starts barking and the hair on his spine is raised. I sometimes look outside and usually see people with dogs going past. Fascinating things, Labs :)

What a horrible thing to happen, I think I would have chased too, it is dangerous but you just don't think about what could happen. Good boy Homer for growling and obeying you, but one lesson is always listen to your dog. Thank goodness you are all ok, things are things and it is inconvenient to lose them but it could have been so much worse. I hope they find the scum and that you can feel safe again in your home, of course another dog is essential now, even if it is just to make you feel better - go for it!

I think because I chased him I used up my adrenaline. I’m more annoyed that I don’t run as fast as I used to frustrating, 10 years ago I would have had him! But then what! I think I just wanted to chase, to make him run, I don’t think I got a fright I think I gave him a fright.

Poor Hubby is having trouble setting up his new phone and computer.

Police were helpful ... but ... Hubby's phone is still at the address we tracked it to using 'find my phone'.

Will the police follow up this lead?

I gave the police all the details but they didn’t track hubby’s phone. Apparently the tracking isn’t accurate enough and they couldn’t use the info as a reason for accessing a property on the off chance the phone is in the vicinity.

I gave the route the phone took to the address as there would be cctv cameras on all the main junctions and it wasn’t a busy time of day.

Not sure what they’ve done with the information. I don’t think they’ve done much.
