Not too bad a night , amazingly !

Well it all went down hill rapidly , serves me right for being so damned smug ! Saturday night was a shocker , he cried despite being next to the bed and despite me making all those baby soothing noises ! He then decided to completely empty the paperwork drawer , at 3 a.m. and as fast as I got stuff off him, he was in there again ! Striving to keep my sense of humour , I finally got up , pulled out said drawer and covered it , or rather wrapped it in two blankets ! Undeterred , the little varmint got in there again , so the drawer has been removed and re positioned in the spare room . Last night wasn't too bad , I kept him awake as much as possible during the evening , he and Nelly are now playing chase up and down the hall , so he was pretty shattered at bedtime , had a few moans but he managed until 5.30 a.m. I cant grumble as he hasn't yet done a wee or poo overnight , I say yet ! This morning I let him into the main garden , supervised , round and round he flew , inspected both ponds , took another little dip in the small one and is now blissfully sleeping , re charging the batteries ! xx

What a good lad last night , he and Nelly played a lot, so he was tired out . Took him to bed at 11, he went straight to sleep on his duvet , woke around 4 crying at the bedroom door . I took him out for a much needed wee and straight back in the bedroom . He did moan for a little while , then got onto his bed and snored, my Lord how he snored ! I woke to hear him messing about , realised it was actually light , 7.15 ! Poor love was desperate to go out and equally desperate for his breakfast into which I dropped his wormer , sneaky !xx

Hehe, it was worming day here yesterday, too. They'll no longer take the tablets "neat", so I wrapped them in gooey brie and gave them all a chaser of squirty cream. No, I didn't need to give them the cream. Yes, they loved it :D
Will have to try Brie for Pepper, he now spits out the pieces of his worming tablet even if they’re covered in peanut better or Primula.

Hah, my lot rattle they take so many pills between them. Most of the time, I just stick them on top of their food and they scarf it straight down. :D

Brie is great because it sticks really well and is mouldable, but slides down the throat nicely.
I heard a top tip for those dogs who are suspicious of wrapped-up tablets: practice with kibble. So get your brie, or whatever you're using, and wrap a piece of kibble in it. That way they get used to it, if they bite down and find a different texture, that it's actually still all good. I thought that was genius. Ginny is "Suspicious dog is suspicious" when I give her food parcels, but she was on so many tablets after her surgery, it's not surprising really.

Stanley is so greedy I’m not even sure he notices that it’s a tablet he’s taking.

I get some treats and make him do a couple of easy tricks and he gets his gravy bones. Then on the 3rd or 4th I give him the tablet and he just gobbles it down and carries on 😂🙈

Another " not too bad " night . He slept most of it away in the undies drawer again , despite his lovely fleece covered memory foam mattress , sigh . So , he managed from 11 until just before 6, so desperate for a wee that he didn't quite make it out of the kitchen, no worries . He had been unsettled during the evening , the wormer I think but has done normal poo , oh the joy of seeing that ! He is like some sort of wound up clockwork toy in the morning , like " Hey, its another day , here I am , ready to face whatever comes " . Trying to keep him until around 7 for his breakfast when he is actually starving , really starving ! Nelly isn't a morning person , so she will tell him off when he gets that manic look and tries to play too rough , she just isn't having it , and that's fine ! I have left him for a few minutes behind the baby gate in the kitchen , but later this morning he has to be left for about an hour . Debbie has a key , and is going to pop over and listen , if he is just moaning she will leave him but if he is doing his heart broken howl, she will come and rescue him ! x

He is doing really well , we are thrilled with him . The big advantage of choosing him so young was that as soon as we chose a name , the breeder and her sons began to use it , he is brilliant at responding to it , for now ! I must work on his manic jumping around when his food is about to be given , so will shut him out of the kitchen until its ready , then a little pip on the whistle and let the beast in !

as soon as we chose a name ,
Yes, I had the same with Cassie, my friends used it before she came to me, and also as their dogs have to wait before being released to their food all the puppies learned to do it to and Cass was already doing this when she arrived home!
:hmm: maybe I should have left her there a little longer for more training!

Sounds like Reuben is doing amazingly well!
