Trevor and I spent very many happy days in and around Keswick with Solstice! The Day Hopper ticket around Derwentwater is well worth a thought, you can get on and off the ferries that travel around the lake as you wish and walk the other bits. There are also a couple of places or so to stop off for refreshments, all dog friendly as far as I remember. Hope your lovely time continues, rain doesn't really matter if you're in the Lakes with dogs and the right clothes, that's what we always said.

That's right, I remember now.
It used to make my daughter cry, I could never understand why, until years later she told me she was afraid for Pippin in case he fell out of the aeroplane!!

Fantastic!! A 35 mile long line with one pencil?? Wow! It’s always so interesting to me that there are often so many things to learn about the everyday objects we don’t think twice about. But when you think about it, a pencil is an amazing invention!

This morning we had a Zoom call to N.Z. to catch up with Scott and Eilidh, a treat for Granny!
Then we headed off to.....
No, not Romney. KENDAL, where we had a daunder around the shops. Lots of charity shops, typical struggling UK high street really, but pleasant in the sunshine.
Then we headed to Windermere and Bowness on Windermere. We had our picnic lunch and short meander along to see the ducks, and a visit to one of the gift shops ( where there were far too many things at tail height!

Next we drove up Kirkstone Pass, there was an amazing rainbow. Such an intense colour! I think Sophie has a photo of it. Then on to Ullswater, where there was a jetty for the boat trips.
MIL ^^ with the twa' dogs.
We passed on that, but drove on down to Pooley bridge where we had planned a walk with the girls.
A dip in the river, across a field and through a small area of woodland.
Sophie has better photos!
Now back home for a cuppa and rest before dinner time! We have plenty wine and gin to drink before home time!
