Op to remove lump on lower eyelid

Had our post-op checkup yesterday. So proud! Snowie kept totally still while the vet removed the stitches and checked his eye. They were dissolvable stitches but the vet said they take ages to dissolve and his eyelid was a little inflamed so best to remove them. He rested his chin on my knee while I sat and held his head while the vet worked. She’s so assertive and highly skilled, amazing to watch her get right in there with scissors and tweezers without hesitation or a care for being nose to nose with a dog! Of course Snowie wouldn’t do a thing. But how is she to know? She has an amazing way with him, whispers to him and is very loving to him.

The lumps were sebaceous cysts. Had some other fancy name that I forget. I must remember to request the histology report. She said there might be more, they come with age. Harmless, but can irritate the eye depending on their location.

Afterwards, my husband and I took Snowie to the forest for a special walk (never get there during the week but it was en route to the vet). I hooked my shoe on a tree root and came down hard on my knees onto the sharp, hard roots. Ripped my shoe, cut my knee, and bruised my toes. My body can heal itself; in fact, by the end of walk the pain had gone away. More annoyed that I must go shopping for new trail shoes yet again!

I've only just bought up with this thread.
The lump in the first pic looks a bit bigger than when I saw him. It feels like just last week we went on our walk.
Glad you got to get is sorted out by the lovely vet. Having a vet you can trust and is so calm with him is worth the drive. I can just imagine Snowie's indignation at not getting treats when he's at the vet - What else are vests for other than being treat dispensers!!

I'm so sorry about your fall and ripped shoes.
Sending big hugs to Snowie for being so brave and to you, hope you are not too bruised.:hug:

LOL! That’s exactly what Snowie says! He dragged us down the passage to her consulting room, straight in and to the treat jar! She said he’s the only dog who goes straight into her room!

I don’t think the lump had changed since you saw it. The photo really focuses on it, makes it look worse, I think. Anyway, I’m pleased it’s removed; I was very worried about it.

OMG that is so like Homer! He will even drag me into the vets, as if he owns the place.
