Poorly Reuben

What a nice young man the Vet was and of course he had to take Reubs in whilst we waited in the car , didnt bother the boy one little bit as his favourite nurses were there .
It is Kennel Cough , not really bad but enough to cause him to be a little under the weather, his heart and lungs are good , no high temperature so he has some anti inflams to take, to ease his upper respiratory tract so thats isolation for a week or two and keep an eye on Nelly too xx

He hasnt been to Playgroup since the week before Christmas , he was due today but obviously I didnt send him and wont send him next week either, maybe even the week after that even though its a mild case x
I dont mind isolating him for as long as necessary , but it does worry me with Nelly as she is not as fit and healthy as he is , fingers crossed xxx

Poor Reuben! Hope he gets better soon. Cover your carpets with towels as all that coughing can cause vomiting! Our carpets were disgusting after a night of kennel cough!!

I’ve read that the kennel cough virus can move in the air (I wonder if it’s also a corona virus?) and can infect dogs quite far away from the source dog.

Hopefully if Nelly hasn’t caught it yet, she won’t catch it at all. xxx

I`m just dreading Nelly starting with it . Reuben is a young strong fit dog , Nelly is middle aged and has health issues already . I know its in the lap of the Gods , there is no way I can keep them apart and in any case , if she is going to develop it , she is already incubating it xx

At least you will be forewarned and at the first sign, down to vet.:thelambiesarecoming:
