Poppy seizures - medicating with Pexion

Jake was epileptic and had to have a hip replacement, he did have a fit when recuperating, but other than that he coped with an op, so I am hopeful for you that Poppy will be fine with her op.
Yes this is my worry, that the operation and recuperation will be stressful for her (of course), and bring on a seizure, which will be no fun at all especially in the first six weeks when we have to be very vigilant. We will just have to be very vigilant and keep an eye on her at all times.

Well, for the first time in 18 months, Poppy had one of her shaky, anxious episodes yesterday. She had just had her supper, and I had given her and Merlin each a large biscuit to chew on - she dropped the biscuit (Merlin of course pounced on it) - this is unheard of for Poppy. She was wandering all over the house, trying to find a place where she felt safe. Eventually she settled on her bed under OH's desk, and I just sat quietly with her. She was shaking and panting, and clearly very worried and anxious, but it was not so bad that we had to give her diazepam. This episode lasted about 30 minutes. Nothing to do really, I just wanted to note it down here to keep a record. :(

Having had an epileptic dog I can understand your concern, thankfully it didn't sound as if you had to give medication and she has now recovered, Not pleasant though after 18 months free, fingers crossed she will be fit free for at least another 18 months.
