I am of the mindset that "purebred" doesn't really exist.
Going back, all breeds are mixes of different dogs somewhere in the distant past.
I shouldn't be in the least bit worried about Quinn.
I think mixed breeds are healthier overall than the "purebreds" are they not?

Quinn is absolutely gorgeous.

Me too. All dogs have been crossed to make them what they are today. My two are cross breeds and are as fit as a butchers dog!! xx

Doesn't matter what she is, but Retriever and Lab is a great mix. Look at all @Boogie 's guide dog puppies with that mix.

Have the DNA tests gotten more accurate, then? I've always heard they are just 'for entertainment purposes'. I mean, clearly @snowbunny 's Ginny is NOT Giant Schnauzer.
As I understand it, over-the-counter dog DNA ‘genetic make up’ tests are less accurate than over-the-counter human DNA tests which aren’t great (What Vets Think of ‘23andMe for Dogs’) - test accuracy is my chosen specialised subject so I get a bit geeky about it :D. But it’s really tough to get hold of accuracy scores for any of these tests (which tell you how likely it is the test is identifying the thing it says it’s identifying and not finding other things). Plus dog DNA tests are unregulated, and driven by industry. Having said all of that, the pool of genetic info being collected is massive and definitely has research benefits, if made available.

Now you're making me curious enough about Carbon to try it myself! People always ask me what he's mixed with, but honestly he just looks like Lab to me. Well, not "just" Lab, but you know what I mean.

Of all the dogs I've had, he reminds most of Mama Jodhi in temperament and habits, so maybe he's got a little closet pit bull hiding in there. :D

From a personal point of view, I'd imagine that knowing what's "in" him makes no difference. However, I wonder if there would be any repercussions if you did happen to find out that there was pit bull in his DNA (I'm sure you were just joking but it's an interesting thought).
