From a personal point of view, I'd imagine that knowing what's "in" him makes no difference. However, I wonder if there would be any repercussions if you did happen to find out that there was pit bull in his DNA (I'm sure you were just joking but it's an interesting thought).
I doubt if he's got pit, they're pretty rare in the part of Spain he comes from. It was a joke when I worked in rescue in California, though, because it was a well-known fact that shelters and rescues often listed a pit mix of pretty much any kind as a Labrador mix.

There wouldn't be any repercussions if he did test as having some pit. All the current BSLs operate on visual determination of breed, not DNA testing. As he doesn't look pit in the slightest, not much risk there. In any case, I just meant that his personality is turning out to be closest to Mama Jodhi of all the dogs I've known. :)

little closet pit bull hiding in there.
Pit bull is really common in people's results (I'm having a good time looking at the results people post on Instagram and facebook because dog genes are crazy and shelter guesses are way off in most cases!). The other common thing that shows up in mixes is Chow!

What difference does it make ? Quinn is lovely whatever.
It has crossed my mind before though, how do we know for sure that breeders are being truthful? We might see the sire and dam and certificates and paperwork but that doesn't mean it is real.

I was told by Joy's breeder that her father wasn't Kennel Club registered. I liked Joy, the breeders and the whole set up they had so much that I didn't even ask why. I mean, I had no intention of entering her for Crufts or anything and I NEEDED another little Labrador girl. You can probably tell that I was in no way disappointed!
