Rourke Rest in Peace

Dear Sonia I am so sorry to hear your sad news about your wonderful boy Rourke. I know that you are completely heartbroken at losing him. You did everything possible to make him comfortable. It was a very difficult decision to make but the right one for Rourke and yourself. You gave him the best life and the one thing any dog should have, Love.

Thank you all, I am heartbroken, the silence without him is devastating. I can't believe he is gone. His body is at the vet, 5 minutes away from me and I am fighting a desperate need to go and see him, but I know it is only his body and not him and so trying to be sensible. I feel as if my life has ended.
Sonia if you want to go and see him and you are able (in terms of getting there and back, and the vet being ready for you) then I’d say go any see him. It’s a valuable part of grieving, if it’s what you want to do.
I’m so sorry you feel your life has ended. This is devastating for you. Is there anyone you can spend time with to talk it through or just have company if you don’t want to talk? The pain of losing Rourke is real and serious so don’t feel you should bottle it up. If you don’t feel ready to see anyone, maybe talk to the Blue Cross pet loss helpers for free: 0800 096 6606. They’re there for exactly this situation Blue Cross Pet Loss Helpline. And keep talking to us here, if you want to xxxxx
