Slow feed bowls

They both took 45 seconds this morning. That's half their daily kibble ration (so about 100g for Coco, 125g Meg) and half a tin of wet for Coco and a quarter of a tray of fishy-stuff for Meg. Plus 2 fish-oil caps each. Much faster than I gave them credit for, but neither of them choke so I don't really see the need to slow them down.

It depends on what he is eating. I haven’t timed it but kibble I think is gone within 45 seconds. If it is wet food like pens&heart 5 minutes. All in a slow feeding bowl. A winter carrot 2 minutes and an egg he plays with and then eat it...

My sister's dog will walk into the kitchen, pick up a piece of kibble, take it to the living room and chew it thoughtfully there, before heading back to the kitchen for another piece.

No, he is not a Lab... :D
My neice’s Bryn (Springer Spaniel) is the same - then he’ll leave it for an hour or so before he has another couple of pieces. When we visit his bowl is wiped clean in seconds!

I asked Mr P to time the dogs this morning as he feeds them when he makes an early morning cup of tea.

Bingley 120g fish for dogs kibble - 3.23 minutes

Diesel 100g fish for dogs kibble 5.23 minutes

Not bad for a £2 slow feeder bowl!
Ohh 5 minutes is impressive!

My friend has a patterdale and she just puts food out once a day and Ruby grazes throughout the day. Then she refills her bowl the next morning.

Stanley would be appalled if he knew.

Monty has just had 40g Skinners kibble plus some supplements in a normal metal bowl. I thought it would be gone in under 30 secs, but at a minute and a half I got a bit bored and stopped timing, but he was nearly finished by then. Looks like he has slowed right down now.

Xena doesn't usually have much kibble left by the time dinner rolls around, but I'll try to remember to time her tonight. If it's not raining I throw her breakfast ration onto the lawn for her to snuffle out (takes about 10 minutes I think), and if it's raining then she gets it in her Kong Wobbler (which probably takes her 5 minutes of frantic crashing about).

After reading everyone mostly saying their pets food in grams I had to go and look what Axel gets🤔 he gets 190 grams three times a day. And this is why I’m broke 😆
Wow, that's a lot of kibble. That would last Monty nearly a week 😂 But Axel is a big strong boy and looks fab.... you must be doing the right thing with him!
