Solstice

Errr... what time does it actually get dark tonight? I have on purpose saved some wine from last weekend to celebrate Summer Solstice and my lovely Solstice dog tonight , but I only saved a glass, which is now gone. GGJ being a Veryvery sensible girl (more so than me, evidently) has now gone to bed and here I am, waiting for the bats to start swooping and considering opening another bottle. I don't suppose one more glass would be the end of the world though.....Happy Solstice everyone, as I've already said in another thread, but she deserves to be celebrated at least twice over. :heart: :heart::heart:

If ever I was glad that I changed my tradition of putting up the Christmas decorations from Christmas Eve to Winter Solstice, today has been the day! So dark, windy, wet and murky all day here, but spending the afternoon decorating the tree and house has brightened things up no end! I can really see where the tradition for doing so at this time of year comes from.
Then I sent a photo of the decorated tree, along with a 'Happy Solstice ' message to our family WhatsApp, only to have Little Brother coming back to me to kindly inform me that this year Solstice is infact tomorrow! Of course I checked it out on Google, and sure enough it's officially at 3.25 tomorrow morning! I quickly replied that today was Solstice's birthday, therefore as far as I'm concerned today is Solstice, to which my lovely nephew instantly agreed, so there we are!😊
Anyway, here is this year's tree, along with two new additions...20231221_185053.jpg20231221_185111.jpg20231221_185122.jpgand also a card that I liked and bought for myself 20231221_173046.jpgFondly remembering Solstice and all the other loved dogs who are no longer with me. Also celebrating my sweet Joy, and the gradual return of lighter days.
Happy Solstice Everyone! :clap: :heart::sun::celebrate:
