Taken the plunge again

A quiet night, we put him to bed about half ten, then did supper for the cats and final wees for Ripple. Toffee whinged for a bit at half eleven after the house went quiet, I just wandered through the room to make sure everything was ok then went back to bed.
The breeder told us he woke at five, so I was wide awake at that time expecting him to make a noise. When I hadn't heard anything by six I did get up. He had weed on his newspaper but I'm sure he didn't bark in the night.
So far this morning OH has taken Ripple for a walk, both boys have had breakfast. Toffee has had a poo outside, a wee inside (my fault - missed the signs) , beaten his toys up, and now both of them are asleep again :).
On balance we have decided we would rather clear up wet newspaper in the morning than wake Toffee up in the night. Obviously if he did call for us we would get up, so we'll just see how it goes.

I hope Ripple is being a good role model!
Ha, ha, I think that's the last thing Ripple will ever be!

What’s all this tea drinking? I thought puppies were supposed to keep you busy - or make you resort to the wine! :)
Me and OH have tried to plan a system so we would each have time to ourselves, I suspect it will all go wrong very shortly .

Well done Toffee :)

I agree about the wet newspaper and I don’t think it takes any longer for them to be dry at night than getting up to take them out. With the added benefit of sleeeeeeeep! Spencer wakes me if he needs a poo, he won’t poo indoors at all. But he happily wees on the newspaper and goes back to bed without a peep.

Love your floor, by the way. He's probably finding it nice and cool.

I agree with you about night time toileting, we did newspaper and pads within a large pen clipped to the crate, we were lucky he wasn't interested in chewing them up,but as he was pretty well toilet trained by 5 months I really don't think its a bad way to do it at all.

I too used newspaper outside her crate which was unlocked. She never barked or whined (apart from the second night a couple of times) and nor did she chew up the paper.
I was so lucky!
She was pretty much dry by 12 weeks.
I think I used to get up in the morning 6.30/7.
