The Big Move Tomorrow - Scotland Here We Come!!!

That's just awful, truly just so stressful. We had a very straight forward puchase in Scotland, went like a dream. All helped buy lovely sellers, we helped them and they helped us. Brilliant. Our house is still on the market but no way am I renting, too many horror stories. Our daughter will be living here so at least it won't be empty. Our problem was everytime we set a date to move something happened e.g. family, work, one thing or another that just needed sorting out.

I really hope things work out and go a little more smoothly. You're going for the big move too!! Will you be sad to leave Scotland, is there something I should know?? xx

Our place in Scotland was getting too much for us, especially the land as OH is away so much. Also since my Mum died last year, although I didn’t see eye to eye with her, we felt we wanted to be closer to family in Kent.
My daughter should be selling her house and buying near us next year, unless our trials and tribulations have put her off moving .

I wish you all the luck in the world @SteffiS It's always tough to move. We have lived here for 26 years, it's our childrens home, but like you, it's too much to look after and we just want a new adventure. My parents have passed away so nothing really keeping us here any more. New begininings.

Things will all work out in the end for you. Keep going. xxxx

I am sorry you are having such a traumatic time. I have moved many times and there have always been massive complications so you have my sympathies. We go to Norfolk lots so maybe we could meet up?

We will be at the Great Yarmouth end, quite a long way from you I think, but it would be lovely to find somewhere to meet up .

Today we have the task of working out how to fit everything in the car that we had to keep for our one week 'no fixed abode' stay.

When I was packing OH moaned as I said I would need a (small) suitcase for my stuff, he said he could get all his clothes in his airline 'carry on bag'. It turns out that he has his clothes in his carry on bag, towels and toiletries in another huge gym bag (mine are in my suitcase), another bag with his laptop and a big load of paperwork (in case he had some time to do some work apparently), plus his cpap bag - also crammed with random papers . I have all the moving paperwork so I really don’t know what his papers are.
Of course we also have the dogs beds, kettle, cups and tea etc. A blow up bed as we have to wait for our furniture to be delivered, and bedding.

OH said we will need to leave some stuff behind - well it won’t be any of mine .

@Charlie, thinking of you today on the road, driving to Scotland, fortunately it is good weather for you.

@SteffiS, what a dreadful time you have been through and still having. My children want me to move and go into something smaller, I don't want to move as long as I am fit to stay here and your tale of the stresses of moving has certainly put me off moving 100%!
