The cat

Reuben got home from Playgroup and as usual ,he was busting for a tiddle , so after a little fuss with Nelly , I opened the back door for him and immediately heard such a commotion  A local cat ( it tried to come in once when we had a cat flap ) was being pursued up behind the pond , it went to jump over the wall and thought better ( ? ) of it , turning and coming back towards the bungalow , still being chased . To my horror, it ran past me and into the kitchen  Thankfully Nelly , being deaf, did not hear the rumpus , she was in the sitting room , I quickly followed in , shutting the outer door to keep Reubs out whilst I got his lead . The hissing angry cat was not happy at all , I crept past it , closing the back door behind me , went out and put Reuben on his lead , out the garden gate to the front to give the cat chance of escape . But , I had closed the back door to stop the big lad running in and the cat was still there, in the kitchen, angry as hell , so I knocked loudly on the front door to alert Paul who was wearing his headphones , totally oblivious to it all . Eventually he heard me , so I told him to open the back door to let the cat out . ` What cat ? ` he asked , ` the bloody cat trapped in the kitchen , dont ask `, I replied . So , he totters into the kitchen but like a prat , he didnt shut Nelly in the sitting room, whereupon she enters the kitchen and clocks said cat sitting on the counter, spitting and hissing like a wild thing , Paul opened the back door, it ran out followed by Nelly in full pursuit , I got this Ground Hog Day moment but thank goodness it flew over the wall , and peace was restored x

just muddy footprints right through the house
Reminds me of last weekend, when we had a collie from a farm in the village hanging around here. We were pretty sure we knew who he belonged to but I hopped out of my car to see if he had an id on his collar. No he didn't.
Before I could get back in he hopped in -- first in the footwell then as I shrieked he hopped on the seat.
I'd just had my car professionally valeted :shake: I shrieked even louder  He then migrated to the back seat. I think I might have cried then.

He was a lovely friendly dog, very pretty with tan/blue black and white coat. But EXTREMELY MUDDY !! In my very clean car :cwl:

He was like alright if I sit here? Or here? :laughdog::laughdog:
