I'm spending this evening looking for a place to stay starting on Sunday - lots of options just have to choose one - but here are some pics from today. We walked for five hours and I have to say the advantage is that now BOTH of my feet hurt so much I can't tell which one has the tendonitis.
But it was a good day. We moved from San Marco to Lido at noon. The family is very friendly and the cottage in their garden where we're staying is very cute. Carbon had a couple of wild rides on the water bus as the weekend has arrived and with it gobs and gobs of tourists. I can't complain in the least as I am one of them, but it sure did make for some interesting manoeuvring of Carbon on the boat so that he wouldn't get stepped on. I'm used to having to worry about four feet but this whole tail thing is REALY challenging. Don't get me wrong, I think tail docking is a big fat NO, but it sure was easier with Brogan not to have to worry about it getting stepped on or rolled over by something.
Otherwise today was just getting lost in the back alleys where pretty much no one goes and is very peaceful. They are shooting some sort of movie here and we ended up walking through the set once but otherwise the backside of Venice is pretty calm. We hit the beach a little too late this evening but Carbon still managed to get some excellent hoolies in - and lose his boot in the process - before we turned back in towards 'home'. He's sacked out on the sofa bed and now that I'm done playing with my photos, it's time for me to dig up a holiday rental in Tuscany. I'm beginning to see the advantage of a travel agent...I'm in need of a magic wand to book me something instantly so I can go to bed!
Tomorrow is loosey-goosey but we may head over to Burano to avoid the crowds. Or hit the beach in the morning and play it by ear.
Now the photos. Take it away, Carbon...
Today foster lady made me walk and walk and walk. But I know now that when I hear the camera say, "Beep" it's time for me to sit and look like the handsome Spaniard I am. Like here with the lagoon behind me. Blue is my color, no?
Here is a boat carrying deleeecious ice cream. I wanted to jump in and swim after, but foster lady keeps saying "No, no, Carbon, don't jump in the lagoon." Pffft! She is no fun. And I am so hungreeeee!
And here I am enjoying the Italian sunshine. Which is a lot like Spanish sunshine. But nothing like German sunshine. Oh si, and that's San Marco behind me, if you didn't notice it because of my sunshiney beauty.
Aye dios mio, foster lady sure likes me to pose in front of EVERY. SINGLE. THING. So here I am. Posing. AGAIN.
This cool hombre dog has his own boat. I want my own boat! Though I am not so certain about all the camo color and dressing like your human. I need to be my own guy, you know?
MORE standing in front of things. Argh!
Look at where these humans hang their clothes. If all the clothes are in the sky, there must be a lot of naked Venetians running around somewhere. Umm...that is a very deep thought for a dog, no?
