The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Carbon is at the clinic and now I wait. He was SO happy to go into the clinic today, bouncing like a little beach ball. Luckily for me, icky receptionist wasn't there and a very nice lady who fussed over Carbon was. I'm grateful. They said he should be able to come back home by 17:00 today, but it depends on what emergencies they may get and how long he takes to recover from the anaesthesia.

Not too happy but I know it must be done. I bought two tubs of ice cream on the way home. Everyone has their drug of choice...

Thank you for all the lambies - they did their job! I just got a call from the clinic and Carbon is out of surgery. Apparently he had a large amount of stones removed but he is now "peeing hugely" (my questionable German translation). They could have also meant that they made his penis huge. Or both? In any case, the vet who updated me seemed very proud of her work and the main idea is that he's doing just fine and the op was a success.

I was ready to rush over and pick him up immediately but they are keeping him until 19:00. Of course this is a good thing as they can make sure his pain is managed before leaving the clinic. Also I know from experience that it's not easy to wrangle an anaesthesia-drunk dog on your own.

Whew, I'm very relieved. I'd worked as much as I could but then just ate my ice cream and crawled under the duvet as I couldn't concentrate at all. Now back to work until I can go pick him up. :happyfeet:
