Good luck with that! I find that, even when I know everything is OK, I still have ants in my pants waiting for the allotted hour to arrive!
Yeah, no kidding. I've managed an hour or so working on my video project, now I just want to GO. Not much concentrating is happening, that's for sure. 😂

I think I'll just go and find some coffee ice cream to celebrate!)
Do it! Everyone goes on about gin, but we need more ice cream obsession around here!

Good to hear this Emily, hope the worst is now over - will the widening - ahem- of his gentleman's bits be a permanent solution to this, do you know, or is he always going to be susceptible to this issue?

Carbon is back home and goodness is he pitiful. When I picked him up he seemed suspiciously chipper, but the crying started in the car, then the weaving while walking back home. He then started bleeding from his newly surgical enhanced bits so I've put him into his crate with a towel packed between his legs. The bleeding has stopped but the pitiful hasn't. I sure do empathise with him: the night after a surgery always sucks. I guess one of the positives of living in a studio is that he can stay in his crate while I keep an eye on him from bed.

The vet gave me a vial of a few of the stones they removed. They are the size and color of Raisinettes (chocolate covered raisins).

We need to somehow get him off the Alopurinol because this is the cause and it will keep happening.

In fact now that I've seen what they've done and seen Carbon wee, I didn't understand what they told me at all. In fact they've made a new opening for him to wee through at the base of his penis. Essentially now his willy is just decoration, because the wee won't go through it anymore. I really can't imagine how this won't get infected pretty much constantly, but they said it was for the best for now because with the new opening, the stones - at least most of them - can just fall out and not block his flow. If we get him off the Alopurinol, the opening can be closed up and he can go back to using his willy.

At least I think that is what they said. I will go to his regular vet for his post op check and she can explain it all to me in English. We don't usually speak English together but if it's something really important to understand every detail, she will translate for me.

For now we just get through tonight. The crying is breaking my heart because it is a puppy cry, not at all an adult cry. It's not constant (he's quiet at the moment) and I'm sure it's a side effect of the anesthesia and not pain as he's got lots of pain meds onboard. I do think we'll see chipper Carbon again in the morning, though if I were him I'd be VERY confused by my new plumbing. I mean, if he lifts his leg, it's just going to run down the leg he's standing on, right? Sigh...

But as long as he can wee, I'll just bring along a loo roll on walks, I guess!

Ah poor Carbon, so sorry he's in a funk after his op. I'm sure he'll be a lot brighter tomorrow. He'll surely enjoy breakfast. Are you sticking to his home cooked fish and veggies?
