The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

I also loved the insight into Bavarian road crossing etiquette! If only it was like that in France - I hated running the gauntlet at pedestrian crossings. It was always a shock coming from NZ (where cars always stop, only a real dick would ignore somebody waiting) to a country where I could be waiting minutes for somebody to finally deign themselves to stop (I daresay the "stoppers" were foreigners, certainly not the bloody French).

I LOVE the "set an example for the dog" - amazing, that might be the best thing I read on the internet all year.

Heh, heh...no kidding! You'll never get across in France if you wait for someone to stop. You just have to launch yourself into the intersection like you are the only one on earth. And remember for your next trip - France NO eye contact with driver while crossing, Italy YES eye contact. :p

Yesterday I had to get my passport renewed, which meant having new photos taken earlier in the week. I was so pleased with what the photographer was able to do with my mug, that today I thought it would be fun to have Carbon's photo done so that he could have a photo in his passport as well.

We had a blast and I loved the photos she came up with. She only took five shots and they were all great. These two were the final winners. :inlove:

Are those white hairs on his face?
Yes. My best guess was that it was all the vicious bitey-face with Paul that left the little white hairs here in that pattern. I think that because Brogan had them too in the same place and from the same age from my little devil poodle biting him in the face.

But for Carbon we're going to call them a souvenir of lots of fun times with his prison buddy as the bitey-face was definitely mutual.

He looks so happy
He's perpetually happy. One of my nicknames for him is "Thumper" because that's the constant sound of his tail, "Thump, thump, thump...thump, thump, thump..."

Doug nearly lost a toe. Specialist managed to save it. All the skin and fur fell off and when the fur grew back it was white. He had one white toe for the rest of his life
