I find your posts really uplifting @Emily_Babbelhund as there are some similarities with what’s going on in my life. I am going to ask the care home that mum has just been transferred to if I can take Red in sometime next week.
Yes. My Mum’s care home loved Tatze’s visits - she did the rounds of the residents who wanted to give her a fuss. The home had their own dog too, called Louisa. She was amazing and never got under the feet of anyone.

I really hope you get a positive answer and that Red can visit. It's not just the effect on the patient: I've been really impressed on how much having a dog there boosts the spirits of staff and visitors as well (and my own spririts of course - that goes without saying). Carbon and I will keep my fingers and his paws crossed for you and Red!

I would be very surprised if the care home doesn't allow Red to visit. All the ones I've known have been very happy to have doggy visitors.

Wow, seems like Carbon was just made for these situations, he (and you) sound like lie absolute stars supporting your dad and Donna.

Look! A therapy dog! Can we say hello?" She seemed so thrilled with Carbon and Carbon with her that I didn't correct her to say that he wasn't actually a therapy dog.
He is an actual therapy dog, it's what he's been doing every day since you got there and will continue to do.
He's so talented he can multi-task assistance and therapy dog without a thought 😁

Yesterday I extended my stay in California another 10 days until mid December, beyond that it got crazy expensive to change my existing ticket so if I need to stay longer I'll just ditch my cash ticket and fly with frequent flyer miles. At this rate I'm going to be meeting myself coming back (if that makes sense) as it'll be just a short touchdown in Regensburg before driving off from Germany to Cornwall. Still glad that my car is in Regensburg as I'll need to see Carbon's vet plus several of my docs so that we're set on meds and other "Germany To Do's" before we head off to the UK and Spain until next June. I imagine we'll also be making another trip to California sometime in the early spring as well. The crazy travel train doesn't show signs of stopping in 2020.

Donna came back from X-ray yesterday with the x ray tech singing to her while she tried to get him to dance with him. What a charmer.

Donna has dancing feet which can't be denied even if she has to incorporate an IV pole into her moves! :monkey:
