The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Hola amigos !

I must be honest, because we Spanish gentleman have a very strict honour code: I am honestly very, very confused. This morning ML finished all her packing and cleaning, but she did not put our things into the TARDIS. Instead our wonderful neighbours came over, including my friends Syd and Rosie. They brought things into our house and ML took things out of our house.

All I really cared about was that our neighbours left their gate open and ML did not seem to care if I ran into their garden and into their kitchen. This was odd because usually when I do this, ML yells, "NononoCarbondonteatRosiesfoodno!" and our wonderful neighbours drag me back home. Today everyone just ignored me and kept going back and forth between the two houses like my animal friends the donkeys carrying packages on their backs.

And sí, sí, Rosie's breakfast that I found in her kitchen was deleeeecious, thank you for asking!

Then ML talked and talked and talked with our neighbours and then suddenly our neighbours were gone and now we are in their house but SYD AND ROSIE TOOK THEIR DINNER WITH THEM and the house is not so magical. It is a perfectly nice house, but without the mystery of the unattainable and above all NO MORE SYD AND ROSIE FOOD, it just isn't the same. Madre de dios, what a dirty trick.

On the other hand, ML has made up my bed and our sofa and unpacked Monkey, Batty, Owen, Hippo and Flea, so I can now report that it looks like we are not leaving Cornwall after all. As I already said, this is all very confusing. But...ojala, que bien! More beach, more Reuben, more sheep poo, more walks: de verdad, truly, I am a very happy Spanish gentleman!

ML comment: Carbon has decided this is all very interesting, but he's ready to go home now. When I let him into the garden at our 'new' house, he goes straight to the back gate and is trying to get back to the other side. Apparently Sydney (neighbour's dog now in our 'old' house) is doing the same from his side of the gate. These poor pups: they are VERY confused. 🤪

Dios mio, swimming at the beach in the morning is hard work. I met a new amigo, a baby Spaniel named Ben, and he dared me to go into the surf and I DID! I swam in a big wave while ML cheered me on, and when I stylishly surfed my way back to shore with my ball, I ran up to her to make sure she saw and she did! She said she was very, very proud of me.

We played and played and played, but finally it was time to go home and have my deleeecious breakfast and now it is a time for a siesta under my favourite blanket with my beloved Batty by my side. Ojala, life is good!

You are wonderful Carbon :inlove:
He IS! I had such a good time watching him "surf". The tide was just perfect: very high with gentle waves over the wide flat part of the beach. Very safe. The first time he did it, he looked just as surprised as I did: the only reason he got out there was that I wasn't throwing the ball (Ben's "dad" was doing the honours) and Carbon was showing off for the puppy. When they left, I kept throwing the ball out for Carbon further and further. Finally he took the ball himself so that I couldn't throw it anymore and headed towards the car on his own: first time THAT has ever happened!

"Pfft, ML, can you not see that I am exhausted and need my breakfast immediately?"

:cwl:

I think I can safely study German and catch up on some paid work for the next few hours without a peep from Señor Carbon. :wasntme:
