The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Glad you've made it back safely Emily and Carbon..
It's probably just a case of readjusting to a new (ish) place Emily, I'm sure given a few days you will remember why you make this place your summer home and you'll get re-acquainted with friends and places. X

That journey sounds grim. Glad you arrived safely and hope you’ve both had a good sleep 💤 . I should imagine after months of space and the sea nearby, it must be weird being confined to a small apartment - that’s a big adjustment to make

Do the windows open?
There's one window that while tall, opens only about 5 inches. Also at the moment there is construction on my street. They started at 7:30 this morning (thankfully well after I'd pulled my car to my front door and dumped all the contents into my apartment) and it's been constant noise since. There's a massive crane truck (?) idling about 6 feet from my window now, so even if the noise wasn't bad, I'd need to close the window as fumes are coming in. I'm going to see if i can't find another fan. It won't give me fresh air, but even moving the air around some more will help.

Precisely. Regensburg is beautiful and as @Jacqui-S and @Sophiedoodle can tell you, I'm constantly singing it's praises and trying to get people to visit. 😁 However mashing myself into a dark box is always an adjustment. I miss the sea air and the seagull noises. Still, at least it's spacious for a studio and the bed is good. The mold and cigarette smell I can sort out in a couple of days. I've gotten very good at de-molding this place after so many years.

I'm also coming in a bit more wrecked than usual between the drive and a week spent in one of the worst Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. The location was stunning and the owners absolutely charming, but the place itself was really bad. It had excellent reviews, but I realise now that those reviews were 100% based on the fact that the owners were so sweet that you could never leave a bad review for them!

I also just think I've gotten to the point where I have to admit that I'd be perfectly happy having my own little place near the sea and taking holidays to more exotic locales just like everyone else. But that's a puzzle for another day.

For today, it's unpacking, organising and getting back to my paid work, which for good reasons I completely ignored yesterday!

Oh, and Carbon says I'm a terrible ML for (1) hijacikng HIS thread and (2) not letting him eat the sausage he found on our walk back from parking the car this morning. He has gone to bed and is pouting. Pfft!!!!!
