Thank you all for the nice messages! I had a great sleep and woke up to a wild blustery Cornish morning. This is my last day of holiday, so my plans are just to get settled in (unpack + big shop at Morrisons), take Carbon to the beach (it's supposed to clear off later this morning for a bit) and then enjoy the sofa with a book and puppy cuddles.
Ahhhhhh...that's the ticket!!! :inlove:

Beach looks lovely, not many people about either, always a bonus :) . At least Carbon stays with you, Ripple would have disappeared on a poo (or worse:sick:) hunt as soon as the lead was unclipped.

So looking forward to coming over with the reprobates ( I include Paul in this group ) next week when I can be sure that Reubs is well over his poorly episode , havent been to the beach in ages due to the leg situation , now raring to go, just like Carbon is, but I will decline the suit I think xxx
So Reuben and Paul are the reprobates? I don't know about that...Reuben is very well behaved. :giggl:

Very very glad to hear that you are 'raring to go'! :happyfeet::monkey:

My landlady's daughter asked me this morning if I would be joining Carbon in the sea and my answer: nope! So I'm declining the suit for now as well. One of my goals is to try out swimming this year with a wet suit, but I need some time to ease into that idea!

You could have a go in a "dry suit" a really odd feeling! For anyone who doesn't know what a dry suit suit is, is a suit which goes over your clothes and keeps you dry. Only, you have to take the air out first. I didn't know that. Water-skiing and bobbing along like a beached sumo wrestler is not a good look. One of the experiences in my life that I will never forget, and anyone watching I doubt will ever forget.

I've heard of the mythical dry suits but didn't know that they went over your clothes or that you have to deflate yourself! I'd always just heard they were very expensive and hard to fit. At this point I'd be thrilled to find a regular old wetsuit to fit me!

I suspect this will be one of my "hey that's a great idea" ideas that in practicality I don't actually do because...well, I hate being cold. And because of my large area of burned skin which doesn't regulate temperature like normal skin, I get cold (or hot) very easily.

However who knows? I get these ideas in my head and sometimes they DO come true. I remember being very overweight and trying to huff up a beach trail with Brogan and Jodhi, when a woman and her dog sailed past me jogging. I thought, "That's the coolest thing ever - I want to do that!"...and eventually I worked up to it, with the three of us becoming trail jogging wizards. Seeing a woman last spring swimming in a cove in Cornwall had the same effect on me: "That's the coolest thing ever - I want to do that!" So who knows? I'm still working away with my fitness coach and he is a tenacious one. We may just get there. 😁
