The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

The owner of the casita in Spain came down a big old chunk of money for June as soon as I told her that the original offer was too rich for my blood. I did all my calculations (per night cost, petrol, tolls, hotel to get there) and it would cost only slightly more than an equal amount of time in Scotland or Normandy and less than Ireland. Driving distance is of course much more and a ton of motorway driving which I find stressful in my tiny TARDIS, but on the other hand I will also avoid changing houses 4-5 times in the month which is also stressful in a different way.

Bottom line: I wanted access to a pool and a palm tree in my back garden, and I justified it with math. 😂

So let's see what the owner replies to me. There are still details to iron out and it may end up going belly up after all, but now I've thrown caution to the wind and made my offer to her.

Well, it's not really throwing caution to the wind when you spend 2 hours building spreadsheets to figure out the costs and logistics, but there you go. 😉

My querida @Granca , we will see these famous palm trees of Scotland one day, but I have heard a leeetle rumour that in June we are going on an epic journey back to my homeland, where we will visit the noble white hilltop cities and beaches with cows. I am quite thrilled by the latter because sometimes one gets peckish at the beach and seaweed is not so filling. Imagine being able to dine on cow poo with an ocean view! Oh, my homeland is truly great!

Hola amigos, this evening I am dictating my words while nearly already asleep in bed because, dios mio, I am very tired! First ML and I went for a walk with our walking group on the other side of Cornwall, then we had a picnic lunch, then we went a little further south just the two of us and went on ANOTHER walk! Ojala, but my little adorable feet are sore! We walked 9 miles (that is 15.5 km for those of us from Spain who know about real measurements) and it took us 5 hours because there were many stops for photos and snacks and all the good things in life. I think my training of ML is coming along nicely, no?

Now we will have a big siesta to get ready for tomorrow's adventure. Buenas noches, gente bonita!

Amigos! Our travel schedule for the end of the month is all set! It even includes a mystery guest (or two). Here are our nightly stops.

1. Special mystery UK stop (I am very excited about this!)
2. Some tiny French town an hour away from Calais (because that is the closest ML could find due to the UK bank holiday)
3. La Rochelle, France (generic chain hotel next to a McDonald's - yummy snacks for ME!)
4. San Sebastian, Spain (a special boutique dog-friendly hotel on a farm)
5. Segovia, Spain (ML picked a rental house based on reviews that said the owners leave cake for the guests - I approve this criteria)
6. Chiclana/Conil de la Frontera, Spain (aka my beeeutiful homeland where we will rest our tired heads for a month)

Here is my valiant predecessor, Brogan, enjoying the beach nearest our destination:

Hope you have a sofa now to rest your paws after all that planning!
Que lastima, what a shame, but we still have no sofa. However I am very happy resting my paws in the big bed in the bedroom or in my little bed in front of the window. It is very exciting to sit on my little bed and watch everything going on outdoors like the cows, the cat and the neighbours. Yesterday I saw the cat, jumped up, and forgot there was glass between me and the outdoors. Aye, aye, aye! That was a un pequeño painful, sabes? ML tells me that I should not be trying to scare the cat because otherwise our feline friend will not leave me deleeecious treats in the gravel outside our house (if you know what I mean), so today I will watch her very quietly instead. A mid-morning snack is always so welcome, no?
