Wow, @Lab_adore that is some itinerary! When you visit Venice, look at Dorsoduro for places to stay. It's my favourite.

OK, ML here because I think I've broken Carbon. After 13.5 hours door to door, we're in our hotel in Regensburg. And we're never ever ever getting in another train again if I can help it. Especially not on the very last day of the Christmas holidays. We're both shell-shocked! I'm glad I did this train trip though, because the next time I DRIVE to Italy and think I'm being terrorised by the Italian motorway, I'll remember this moment and say, "Nope, all good!"

Now I'm taking Carbon out for a wee in beautiful old town Regensburg, then we sleep, then tomorrow we are reunited with the TARDIS.

Oh amigos, my leetle paws are so very tired but I leave you with two goodbyes to Venice. One to our cosy casita with the excellent sofa:



And the other is your Señor all by my lonesome on the vaporetto at 6:30am on a Sunday. What a peaceful last ride - for now, because we will be back!

Hola todos, here is your leetle Señor, so happy to be in Regensburg that I did super bueno circle zoomies all over the main square! Today was very nice. We started with breakfast with Señoritas Nadine and Fine…





…then we went to pack up the car. ML has made it soft like a cloud for me, and that can only mean that we we are going far and going far in the car means…

Cornbeefwall! Pasty Land! Surfing !My amigos Reuben and Nelly! And…my beeeeeeeloved querida CHICKEN!

So we had one last walk around Regensburg to celebrate , and found the last two Christmas trees…



I also tried to go see Fine at her store, but ML says she is in Munich tonight. I still wagged and waited, because you never know, verdad?


But it is todo bien, because I will see her the next time. Now we are back at our hotel, where there is a speeeecial fireplace and hats on the wall. Bavaria is muy raro, very strange, but I love it.


Now it is time for sweet dreams of Cornwall and my chicken. I will see her soon!

ML here as I’m hoping that Carbon is mainly ignorant of this morning’s stress. The important thing is that we’re now sitting in the queue to board the Shuttle, so barring a complete break down of the trains (oh please no) we are on our way to Pasty Land via @Granca and @Boogie . Yay!

But my oh my, has Eurotunnel become a shambles as compared to the past. And by past, I mean pre-Covid. Actually thinking I’ll try the ferry back out, and I hate ferries. And they could be a shambles too, but at least a different shambles .

Anyway, no point in dwelling and very worth it to have my Cornish visit, so onwards and upwards! Or at least sideways , as that’s the way the rain is gusting.

That’s good to hear. Maybe for me it was the storm combined with the early departure skeleton crew. It was a mess. But we departed on time and are now under the Channel speeding along nicely. Hoping for smooth-sailing for the rest of the morning, though of course completely understand that I’m hitting London at rush hour so am girding my loins appropriately.

You must be exhausted after such a long journey. Must be super to meet @Granca and @Boogie. I think you might find "pasty land" a bit windy and wet after Venice, but so peaceful x
