The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

@Emily_Babbelhund, I so enjoyed that read and seeing all the photos. The sea looks very clear. I am full of admiration that you climbed down to those house ruins, looks very scary to me. What super adventures. I went to Cornwall in about 1953 and my enduring memory were the tin mines.
Awww, thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed Carbón’s story and photos. The sea has been amazingly clear lately - it’s just so beautiful. It’s funny because in winter I ALWAYS think it’s amazing here, but then spring comes and it’s like someone has turned up the Kodachrome filter! I just love sitting in a cliff and watching the water, which is what we did at Botallack.

I was also very proud of myself for walking down to those engine houses. Six years of visiting and I never dared, but I’ve been using my time off work to lose weight and get fitter and we made it! With the Señor’s help of course - not something I’d attempt without him. ❤

Carbon and Daisy in matching His and Her bandannas. A match made in heaven. Now… what was the guy like? Sounds like way too much in common not to at least ask…
The guy was lovely…and about 20 years too young for me. And…generally out of my league even if I wasn’t an old fart. 😂

But it was really fun to meet him and I’ve followed him on instagram - he travels all over with Daisy and let me tell you, he and I essentially do the same thing with our pups, he just does it a lot more famously (77k followers).

I’ve been toying around with Carbón getting his own Instagram just for fun, but I’m always wary of social media (I don’t use Facebook et al). However he really made it sound very positive and supportive - at least the dog corner of Instagram. So who knows, maybe he’ll be my inspiration to dip my toe in!

He’s Labrador_daisy_2023 on Instagram by the way if you want to check him out. He travels all over but is currently of course in Cornwall and even heading to the Isles of Scilly, so lots of fun photos of the beautiful Daisy. 😊

No never Emily. I don't think you know how beautiful you are and such a lovely person. Lovely read, glad Carbon enjoyed himself with Daisy :dug:
Yes @Emily_Babbelhund you are most attractive and beautiful and I have seen you in the flesh! Sounds a perfect match, he loves to travel. My Mother married a man 22 years younger than she was and they had a very happy marriage, the age difference only became a problem when she was in her late 80s.

Carbón is famous already! This is from Daisy’s Instagram account :inlove: For what it’s worth, I think doggy Instagram is a fabulous corner of the internet. Instagram itself is slightly frustrating as a platform ands is sadly part of the Meta empire, but as we’ve already chatted about, I’ve found a huge number of positive trainers, behaviorists and like-minded guardians that I’m constantly learning from in that space. Plus I like the emphasis on photos and images. If you ever hop over there, I’m harriet_a_hunt :)IMG_9487.png

I joined Instagram just a few days ago....and I don't get it! It flicks around randomly and I get lost but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. I've sent a request to follow you @HAH
And I’ve accepted, baby! Lovely to see you over there 😘 I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it - the more people you ‘follow’, the less dross you’ll be offered. Look at my follow feed for dog people ideas if that helps? And message me any time over there, it’s likely I’ll have an idea or two if needed.

Oooo Sonia, hats off to your mother…I don’t think I have the energy to keep up with someone 22 years younger! 😂

I’m with @Lab_adore , Instagram kind of baffles me. But you’ve and Daisy Dad have given me a little push. And now I know I can bug you if I get stuck. 😉

Oh amigos, we have been having so many adventures that my leeeetle paws are too tired to type at night when we get home. I have so many stories to tell, but so that I do not get so very far behind, here are some of my favorite photos from the last few days.

Primero, there is SURFING! We had the most beautiful afternoon surfing on Harlyn Beach after a walk over the cliffs to get there.

And sí, it was so pretty that I had to sit down with ML and enjoy the view. Because that is how we roll, sabes?

Then it was surf city!

Even ML got in the water with NAKED FEET. I had forgotten that she even had toes and feet inside those wellies, she has been wearing them THAT long.

We met many nice people thanks to me doing my role as Official Cornish Beach Greeter so admirably. Sometimes this irritates ML because it does take quite a bit of my time and I must cover the entire beach while she follows me waving wildly (at what, quien sabe, who knows?), but she gets a lot of benefit from it. It means she gets to meet so many different people, PLUS lots of extra exercise. Qué bien, no?

Friday I got to go see best amigo Reuben. Also Chicken but I could not find Chicken. Pfft!

But it was still a great visit, ojalá. Here I am using Reuben’s backside as my pillow. I tried going on the sofa, but Nelly was there and she scared me. Reuben’s backside was the better choice.

And in case you forgot, here is what his front side looks like.

Then yesterday we did our very last group walk of the year, again on the Lizard. I do not really like group walks, but at least one of the nice English gentlemen shared his quiche with me. Somehow that made it a lot better.

Our post-walk walk, which we always do on our own after the group walk, was much more fun. We went to Porthleven, which is a wonderful port town that always smells of deleeeeeecious food. We walked all around, I ate things off the ground, we listened to live music, and we did - claro qué sí - a photo safari.

And then I got photo-bombed! As is now a three year tradition, ML suddenly decided to join me in modelling. Really, she should leave these things to the professionals, no?
