The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Hoping Snr. Carbòn's digestive system is behaving.
Safe travels x
It’s better but not normal. I’m so glad I had oatmeal for him. He’s got zero energy. But it’s still hot and the last week has had many good moments, but was still stressful. This used to happen to my previous dog on every single trip, but never to Carbón. For that reason I’m tending to jump to it being more serious than it likely is. But really that’s MY problem, not his.

we’ve got about an hour for him to walk around outside the airport, then a very long rest in the plane. Let’s hope his magical Labrador digestive system kicks in!

Well, of course. He's a labrador. (And I think it is time that the words "in training" came off his signature line!)
Have a good flight, and enjoy that cookie trolley Carbon...
I haven’t been able to change my signature for years, don’t know why. I’ll try again when we are in California. He’s definitely not in training anymore - he’s more ‘world master level’ now. 😉

So true!
And perhaps the sig line knows better. It means: "assistance dog, i.e. assisting in the training of the human race to dispense cookies at a more appropriate rate." Pongo would approve.

Really hope Carbón is fully recovered, I can imagine how stressful it would be travelling by air under those circumstances! All best wishes for a safe and 'event'-free journey and a happy landing!
Joy and I send love, licks and wags to you both.

I’m sorry Señor Carbón and I have disappeared again. It’s been kind of a challenging time since we got to the US.

The latest is that he’s having dental surgery tomorrow as one of his teeth disintegrated overnight and the vet has concerns that other teeth may be affected. Apparently re-absorption of teeth is a thing amongst dogs that have had poor nutrition as puppies, as was most certainly the case for Carbón.

You can’t tell from the outside of the tooth. I obsessively clean his teeth and they all looked good, if worn from age in spots, but Wednesday morning one of his teeth was just gone.

I took him to the beach today and he had a special meal. There’s no reason he won’t be fine, but I’m a mess. 🥺
