The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Just caught up on here! So glad that Carbon only had the one tooth issue! I also completely sympathize with you, any time Hugo has been put under (and Axel) I have spiralled, it’s just where my head goes like you said. But thankfully we have this lovely forum to help us get through and help us think positive thoughts! 🩷

Hola amigos! We have escaped Germany today! Dios mio, the last month was a gran desfio, a big challenge. Nothing bad, in fact my health is excellent these days, but we are happy to be doing something else that is NOT to do with German bureaucracy. Pfft!

Now we are just two best amigos going on a road trip. We will finish our trip in our second best happy place, Venice (first best happy place is, claro, Cornbeefwall). But where are we going before our two weeks in Venice? It is an adventure!

And in your case, they are scales in different countries. Pounds and kilos. Carbon, it sounds like you might have a case for more cereal with milk, crisps, etc!
Oh, I do agree with you! Different units, different scales. It cannot be that all that ‘special’ Cookie Man food did me dirty. I am fairly certain if it goes directly into my mouth and not first into my bowl, there are no calories at all!

Besides, my September lab results from Germany were SO good that my doctor said I could stop my special leishmania medication. My kidneys are SPARKLING, que milagro!

While during the same month, ML had to lose 10 kg and STILL has tooooo high cholesterol and nearly has gout. She can have my leftover leishmania medication, which is also used on humans with gout. He, he, who is laughing now? Karma, mis amigos - I may be plump, but I am healthy plump.

Now ML and I are both vegetarian so her labs can be as good as mine the next time she tests her blood. Plus the hoooman doctor says lose another 10 kgs. No pizza for YOU in Venice, ML. Que lastima!

I always think of Marin bicycles 🚲 when I see the word Marin. When my son was young he absolutely loved Marin bikes and he eventually got one (I think he still has it). It took me a while for the penny to drop that they came (originally) from Marin County the other side of San Francisco Bay
(sorry Carbón - not a useful bit of information for you 😉)
Interesting! Who knew there were Marin bicycles?

Yes, it’s hard not to think the worst until they walk out after the fact, Carbón was a champ though. He’s only had a couple GAs but both times he just bounces out like it was nothing. I’m grateful that my worry doesn’t seem to touch him. 🥰

Hola! Señor Carbòn :hi:
Dónde te escondes?
Como estás El hombre de Galletas y ML.
Te extrañamos.
Tu Castellano es muy guay, Amiga Jac! I am sorry that ML hid again, escondidos de verdad. I will try to do better. She is a LOT of work to keep on track, it is the truth.

I also again send special Carbón besitos and abrazos for la maravillosa Lilly. She will always be the Reina of our Forum.

Lovely to see you both again and hopefully you manage to recover from the German bureaucracy!
Mmmm, recovering from German bureaucracy is a tall order, ojalá! But ML’s citizenship application is finally complete after 14 years of fighting. Now we wait. Pues, I do not really wait because I already have an EU passport. I am a proud Spaniard! Hopefully ML will also be an EU citizen in a few months and can go on to worry about something new.

Like, for example, how we were supposed to have a big bed tonight and we only have two tiny beds. ML says she will cover me with our own duvet, but instead I will probably go on her bed instead. I do not sleep alone! Ask Auntie @kateincornwall!

By the way, tonight we are in Rosenbach in Austria near the Slovenian border - and directly across the street from the tiny train station. Tomorrow we reach our real destination. Que bien!
