The Vets

confirmation when I took Hunter for his vaccination but because of the vet I got I didn’t. I knew if I did she wouldn’t say anything to put my mind at rest and worse case she might suggest tests or at least tests if it continues. The good vet I mentioned earlier would’ve said, and did with S&S, just give him a biscuit before bed he’ll be fine. I know this vet is doing the job “properly“ if you like but ……. I knew if I didn’t mention it though it would happen |(
THe vets who are owned by some companies are told to make money so do tests etc! Other vets have told me if they don't and the pet becomes ill, the client will say they were negligent! Rely on your own common sense, have a conversation and make your own mind up.

@kateincornwall I’m sorry about your vets Kate I know how much you thought of them and how good they’ve always been with all your dogs. They’ve always sounded a caring vets. I wonder if something is going on ? Well obviously something is going on that’s a stupid question. Has the downturn happened since the new vet opened I wonder. Now there’s competition they might have lost customers. However I don’t think that’s a reason to let the place look neglected. It’s good the new vets is an independent though if you do decide to change. Maybe it might be worth having a chat with Sue or the receptionist or the vet doing Reuban’s teeth if you ever get an appointment and voice your concerns.

@Atemas Thank you for that. I know it most likely is empty tummy with Hunter but …… It’s good to know someone else has experienced it. Hunter is loving the extra biscuits

Neo used to get hunger pukes a fair bit too when he was younger and still does now on the odd occasion, most recently Tuesday morning (and he always manages to find the carpet rather than the hard floors! 🙄). He gets a handful of kibble and a bedtime Bonio which helps a lot, and like Red, it’s part of his routine and he refuses to go upstairs to bed without his bedtime snacks first.

Snowie also used to vomit every now and then in the early hours. So we also started feeding him a snack before bedtime. The vomits didn’t stop entirely. Then we stopped all tick, flea, and worming meds, and no more vomits. Also no more seizures after stopping them (he was treated as an epileptic for all those years). I wonder whether Hunter’s vomit coincided with taking the Milbemax? Hope I’m not causing undue worry! But I’d imagine it can cause nausea.

@Parodius, @HAH, @M.F. Thank you all you‘ve made me feel a lot better and the next time it happens, which could well be tomorrow who knows, I certainly won’t worry knowing you’ve all experienced similar. Like Neo Hunter seems to prefer to throw up on the carpet although this time I did spot the licking of the lips in time and managed to get him onto the tiled floor . He hasn’t had the Milbemax yet @M.F. but it won’t surprise me if that has an effect. My vet changed from chewable milbemax to chewable Milbevet which made Scout vomit so I now always request the milbemax tablets.:fingers: Hunter is just about to have his bedtime snack. In fact he’s not impressed because I stopped to write this post. It’s funny how some things they catch on to really quick.
