You can buy Valium in the pub here....
We tried to get some Xanax for Steve for his mild fear of flying but it's changed now and you have to see a psychiatrist to get a prescription. A GP can no longer prescribe it. Crazy. I'm guessing valium would be the same

I had valium when I had my wisdom teeth out. Awesome stuff!

I had diazepam (Valium) for my fear of flying a couple of times. I hated it worse than the fear. Made me feel groggy and hungover without the fun part! People who take it recreationally must have a rather different experience (and/or dosage!!).

I've just cleaned it again. Ewwwww! I HATE IT!!!
Owowowow, it must be horrid you poor thing . I guess each cleaning is one less for the future, and one step closer to a healed finger?

I had oramorph after my csection.

Enjoyed it!
Gotta love those 'oldie but goodie' drugs. :sneaky:

@snowbunny , can you really get opiates/anti-anxiety meds without a script in Spain? When I had my Big Fat Mental Breakdown in Spain three years ago and was taking in heavy-duty scripts to get filled, my friendly pharmacist never clued me in. And let me tell you, between my scripts, Carbon and Paul's scripts, and my psychotic foster cat's scripts, she and I were on a first name basis as I was going in sometimes multiple times a week. I got the feeling it was pretty well controlled.

I'm sorry it hurts so much to clean. Ow, ow and triple ouch! šŸ¤•

We've got a drawer full of Xanax for Homer - no questions asked by the vet who prescribes them.

I once stabbed myself in the stomach with a sharp knife while I was doing the dishes.
OK, that's an excuse to NEVER do dishes again.

Illustration: as a kid, my dad wanted me to mow the lawn every week. The first week, he got out the lawnmower, showed me how to start it (stupid rope pull) and told me to get started. Except he left an extension cord running across our back garden from the house to the shed. I didn't see it, ran over it, cut it in half and was roundly and extensively cursed out by my dad for being so stupid. I felt horrible at the time, but it was one of the best days of my childhood: I never was "trusted with" lawn mowing again. Happy days!

So you gotta work that kitchen accident in your favour, @SwampDonkey . 😁

Codeine, diazepam, gabapentin, fluoxetine and Paroxetine all yes. I believe Flx is ā€œcontrolledā€ in some respects, in that you can only buy a certain amount at once, but that was at least a fortnight’s supply when Willow was on it. I don’t know about the others. And maybe it varies between territories?

Ok, now I'm REALLY missing Spain.

But seriously, it is a consideration. I ran into an issue with my German GP and my diazepam script and then thought I could get it filled (with my other psych meds) in the UK if I went private. Instead I've ended up having to come off everything again, just because of lack of access because - long story short - getting my psych meds filled here in the UK via a private doctor would cost upwards of 1000 pounds, not including the actual medication. In Spain it was 80 EUR for the doc visit (psychiatrist) and that included the script. If what you're saying applies in Andalucia, I could have gotten my emergency meds (diazepam) directly over the counter. That's really good to know for the future - thank you!

Gosh that washing sounds painful @snowbunny .
And the dogs, has it made you any more cautious around feeding them by hand, even just temporarily? And do you think Shadow knew that he got your finger?
