That's looking really good Fiona! and no much swelling considering. the stitches do look a bit, um, rustic, but who am I to judge, they have done the job! It's probably quite difficult stitching a round finger, thinking about it.

How’s the feeling in your finger?

I have feeling. I can’t say it’s normal or not until it stops hurting when I poke it into things

As of today, I’m off all medication and I had to take all the dressings off about an hour ago because the throbbing became unbearable.
It doesn’t hurt, but the throbbing in the bandage was GGGGAAAAGGGGHHH!!!
I might take an ibuprofen before bed just to stop that. I feel bad because I don’t like taking medication unnecessarily, and there’s no pain, but, man, that throbbing...

I want to say that I think the feeling is ok throughout the finger, but that’s only from my vague interactions with it. It’s a bit like an alien being right now! I’m hoping that, way before the nail grows out, it’ll get to a point where I can move it without it hurting, and then I’ll know a lot more. Now I’m just kinda looking and thinking “that’s weird/gross/cool” from a distance

Well that sounds promising! If there was absolutely no feeling I think you’d be able to tell, even in amongst the throbbing.

Definitely take some meds for the pain.

I can’t quite work out how the stitches are holding it all together? They look very loose, but maybe I just don’t understand where they’re going in and coming out?

Glad your finger looks good and healthy. I’d also be wanting to cut the nail, least of all that it doesn’t accidentally get caught on something. Ouch!!

I always tell my doctors, "Oh, the stitches must have just fallen out!" and try to look innocent. I always wonder if my files have a big stamp on them saying "NONCOMPLIANT" just like they do with some dogs at the vet saying "BITER".
