Throwing up -a lot

Sorry to hear about Axel...that sucks. I would definitely consider putting him on a low fat gastro diet while you try and get to the bottom of it, as it might help is there is something in the food triggering an issue like pancreas or colitis type things and it also helps if there is any inflammation going on (the things you learn when your dog lives at the vet ). The other thing I would try is similar to @Jelinga's recommendation and make his meals smaller by splitting up meals into 3 or 4 rather than two, in case it is a digestion issue. Hopefully vet can get to the bottom of it!

Thinking of you and all you’re going through. We’re unable to put Ariel on 2 meals a day as she can’t keep it down. She’ll probably be a 3-meal a day pup forever. I hope you find some concrete answers on Friday. All the best.

You sound understandably really fed up with this.
I really hope you get some answers.
I was just going to mention that over acidity in the stomach in humans can cause excessive wind and burping so that might be a clue. Have you been tried with some antacids or reflux/acid meds?

Thank you everyone, it’s been stressful and overwhelming to say the least.

I will try feeding three smaller meals a day and see if that helps. I started a year ago by not filling his water bowl more than half way at a time. Because I thought maybe he was regurgitating because his food was sitting on a ton of water. It seemed to have helped but yet it still continued.

The blood is what’s concerning me the most now, as the blood is showing up quicker. At first the vet said the blood was from burst blood vessels from him vomiting so much at one time. But now the blood shows up so quickly😩

Since he was a puppy he has done this weird gulping thing, ever so often, but seems to be doing it more over the last few months. So I can’t help but feel something is wrong and irritating in his esophagus. Whether that’s acid reflux, or a lump, I’m not sure.

Poor boy just had his last meal tonight, has to fast for 48 hours. Thursday night he gets his first enema when I drop him off at the vet for the night. Then he will have an enema first thing Friday and again early in the afternoon, then his scope will be late afternoon.

I’m going to miss him so much Thursday night😭 And I’ll be so worried with him being under anesthetic, and worried about what they find.

Thursday night I find out about my moms cancer, if they removed it all or if it has spread. It’s a stressful week. 😪

48 hours fasting and two enemas, wow, that's some serious prep :/ But it's the right thing to do because a) you want to get some answers and b) it's worrying you. The fast is going to be tough to get through, but we're here for moral support.

Sorry to hear you are having a 'bad year', must be something about this year as same here.
Hope you get Axel all cleared and fully investigated. I doubt he has cancer (but get why it is on your brain) and with the thin poos like a string in middle of day, maybe that is just because he does not have a lot 😀
Vanilla will do small thin poos plenty of times.

Hope your mums results are clear on Thursday.

All the best and thinking of you

So sorry. What a very stressful time. Wishing you all the best for your mom’s results.

Poor Axel, fasting 48 hours. Hopefully the scope will give you the answers you need. Snowie had HGE (haemorrhagic gastroenteritis) for a few months—bloody diarrhea. It just wouldn’t go away, kept coming back. Vet said it was caused from inflammation of the gut. Probably from eating human poo on our walks—probably E. coli infection. We didn’t do massive tests, two vets came to the same conclusion based on poo like raspberry jam! We had him treated by a holistic vet eventually and he finally got better. If you get the same diagnosis, I can share what treatment we were prescribed.

you poor thing, what a tough 48 hrs ahead. Wishing you much strength and good news. Can Axel have ice? I’m just thinking of that fast, eurgh. Maybe the odd cube might give mild respite xx
