To the quieter forum members

Under other circumstances I'd never write this. But I never imagined I would be living through times like these. It's wonderful that people come and visit us here and take away knowledge, and learn new skills about positive training and caring for our dogs. That is why we exist here in the first place, of course.
However, now, I think we are here for another, additional purpose. I believe we are taking comfort in knowing that we can rant out loud, worry, stress and moan about life. Some niggles are smaller, some are huge, but we know no one here will ever, ever, belittle or disregard our fears and anxiety. Thank goodness. Because few people can say that happens right now online.
And if they did, @snowbunny would kick their arses out asap.

If you are a new or existing forum member, just say hello to us. We would love another voice, another thought or opinion. We can't solve your worries, but almost every hour in the day, someone will read your post and respond.

If you feel you've left it too long to post, you haven't. Just say yes, this is s*** right now and it's scary, but isn't my dog amazing 😍 And the best dog ever. And we will agree.

Not the little one this morning. Finding her with a nice half eaten animal in her mouth not wanting to give it up..plus it was dark...

but I do agree with all the other comments though...

We are a nice bunch and a safe place to come
Sometimes we will come across a bit weird, strange or absolutely stark crazy bonkers. We could be like talking about size of toilet paper and how many you would use, or talk about poo (dog poo I shall add). This is after all the favorite subject of some members on here...or spew for that matter.

But other than that anything goes if you just want to listen (OK read) and like a post without replying that is OK too, but even better if you reply and then we can like your post...if you add a picture of your dog you will get extra likes (just saying)

This is so true and so perfectly put @Natalie

Thank you @Natalie for a lovely post.

I’m a long time reader - who felt I’d left it far too long.

But yes, this is sh*t!! And I’m so worried and scared about now and the future.

But Boomer is still awesome and bonkers and makes me laugh every day. And last week shocked the pants off me when he recalled from other dogs BEFORE getting to them to say hello. I nearly fainted before celebrating madly 🀣 . So that’s my huge positive this month amongst all the sad news.

Here he is enjoying extreme social distancing on the moors!FF32BC36-61C3-4304-B407-94457F73AED9.jpeg

Hi Kay, and the most hansummest Boomer! Thanks for joining in - it's nice to know that there's a place we can come to rant, or express our fears, or talk about our lovely dogs and the things they do to lift our spirits in this crazy world :)

I am another member who you would call a 'quieter member'
I have gained a wealth of information both doggy related and in general from this site and class all the forumites as my friends which I feel I know fairly well.
Where else could I find first hand information about the weather in Alberta or Sidney, about the awful fires in Australia or about customs and practices around the world.

Even though I haven't posted I do feel incredibly supported in knowing you are all just a click away XX

I am another quieter member although an avid reader. I do feel very supported along with my chocolate girl Amber and OH .

For the first time I am feeling really cut off. My son and wife live in the US and my daughter and family live in Switzerland. Social media is a key part of our family communication. We had a lovely three way face time session on Sunday.

The really hard bit is knowing that in emergency we can't travel to each other.

Hi @Amber
Sounds like it could be quite challenging for you over the coming weeks. It’s good that you are able to FaceTime though. Please do use this forum as a way to vent, laugh, cry etc πŸ˜€

Thank You @Natalie for thinking of the quieter members like me. These are unprecedented times and very frightening for all of us. I am grateful to be able to look on the forum to see how others are coping. I am also grateful to have Pippin and Becca, they keep me grounded because I still have to care for them amid all this uncertainty. They are so amusing at times too. Pippin at the moment won't leave the bird food alone that has fallen on the ground, when she thinks I'm not looking she slinks off slowly and as low to the ground as she can to grab a mouthful. I am sure she thinks I can't see her if she moves like that.

Stay safe everyone.

Well posted @Natalie ! And Hello to all our 'quieter members ' from me and Joy,(who is anything but quiet just now, currently barking at dogs going past on the towpath! )It's good to hear from you, do keep in touch if you feel like it, I think it's probably a case of 'The more, the merrier ' at present.
