Only three weeks ago , we took Reuben and Nelly to meet Emily and Carbon at their house near Padstow . We took them to the beach and I was so proud of Reubs, he was so well behaved , yes he ran and ran, but he wasn't manic and he came back to the whistle every time . Cut to today ! Well all I can say is that he was the total opposite !
I don't want to make excuses but I think it was total overload for the lad , we had Debbie and Silas with us, plus the beach was more busy than last time, due to the early Easter holidays . It started off well , Emily and I walked the dogs and Silas down to the waters edge , Reubs and Silas went in, jumping waves and having a total blast , then Reuben and Carbon had their usual zoomies around , still all good . Back to our camp and I had to put Reuben on lead as there were more and more people coming onto the beach , lots of children and lots of balls and frisbies , plus many other dogs . OMG, he turned into a complete and utter lunatic , pulling on his lead, crying and generally being a right royal pain in the bum ! Carbon, by contrast , was good as gold, very calm and quite sedate by comparison to my young maniac ! We stayed for two hours , two long hours , during which time Reuben had dug the most enormous hole right in front of me , to the amusement of people passing by , how I didn't fall into it I don't know ! He covered my legs, filled my trainers and Debbies handbag with sand, by which time I had got past caring and just wanted to go, now please ! Emily invited us back to hers for a drink , and within minutes , Reubs had chewed the tail of Carbons pheasant toy , time to go home ! To be honest , I was setting him up to fail , dogs, children , toys, all too much for a seven month old puppy, but I have put this in here because he behaved like a teenage delinquent !
Note to self , buy a new harness and don't go to a busy beach ! He now sleeps , looking so innocent xx

. Then at some point she managed to mug the trainer, also a bad thing. Then she headbanged me practically reducing me to tears in front of everyone. Such happy days. But oh how far we have come!
