Trip to the emergency vet for Hunter

He is very dehydrated so he is now on a drip. I pick him up at 730. Blood tests for liver and kidneys were OK. He has no temperature. We saw his other vet and she also thought poison. So we know what ir isn't and now I wait for him to be hydrated. He was much perkier when I left. They let me stay with him whilst we waited for the blood results
Wait and see

I'm so sorry he's such a wonderful boy. Glad you were able to stay with him a bit. Big hugs to you both ♥

That's awful to be thinking poison. As in accidental antifreeze or something more malicious?
Whatever it is, I hope the vets manage to get him back to his normal self.
Very big hugs for you and lambies for your big lad

We are back home and the vet was shocked at how hungry he was when they gave him some food. She thinks it is an infection but she was/is concerned about the amount of blood in his wee. He still has the tube for the drip just in case. I have to take wee samples tomorrow to check for blood (baby food pots I kept are now very useful) and report back to the vet. He is very sleepy but is so much better than this morning. Vet will call tomorrow to check and then if all is OK we will remove the tube for the drip on Friday. He has had a wee so that is good. We are going in the right direction. Thank you all for your kind words and lambies. Hopefully we have a good night. X

I'm so sorry to read through everything that's happened in such a short period, but relieved that your last message seems to be going in the right direction. Poor boy, he looks so out of it in that photo - it's terrible when you want them back to themselves. Sending lots of Lambies!

He had a wee twice in the night. Bless him, he knocked on the cat flap to tell me. He had a pooh(liquid) and a wee on a short icy 5 min walk. Not very alert though, sleeping in his basket and no morning greeting. He had a little breakfast but is refusing to drink water. I mixed the food(digestive special from the vet) with water and he ate/drank that. Slightly better than yesterday but no real great improvement. Waiting for the vet to ring back as the icy roads have caused road delays.

I guess he's been pretty poorly, it might take time :hug:. Good boy, asking to go out in the night.

With the drinking, I seen tips on here (or maybe on the Forum we don't mention) about adding flakes of tuna to the water bowl, to encourage them to drink. I've never had to do it, but I'm someone will be along who has!
