Reubs has had his flea/tick treatment , I paid over the phone and the Vet posted it out .I dont treat Nelly at all due to her health issues but being white helps a lot

Yes I’m grateful for yellow dogs, the ticks are fairly visible - though I got very good at spotting them on Bones’ black fur too!Reubs has had his flea/tick treatment , I paid over the phone and the Vet posted it out .I dont treat Nelly at all due to her health issues but being white helps a lot![]()
Yep , dont want to go through that again , pesky little crittersOh Lordy @kateincornwall this puts me in mind of your awful ’personal’ encounter with ticks last year![]()
Red’s is tomorrow - written in my diary so I don’t forgetTatze’s Nexgard is due this week.
Can you take Nexgard too?Yep , dont want to go through that again , pesky little critters![]()
Have I missed something?but there’s no evidence it’s safe for use in pregnant bitches, so not worth the risk!
NoHave I missed something?
Not yet!! But all her health testing has been passedHave I missed something?
It’s one of those localized things I understand, so they’ll have a sense of what works best on your local ticks. Our vets recommend Bravecto as the local ticks have developed immunity to many of the other treatments. Can you take Nexgard too?
I've never used anti-tick stuff on Carbon except when we were in Spain and that was just a side benefit of the anti-Leish collar. I need to go to the vet here in Cornwall anyway in the next couple weeks to get more heart worm tabs, any recommendations of what I should ask for against ticks?
If Carbon has never picked up a tick where you are living, then I would caution against treating him with Bravecto or similar. Thanks for the advice.
Carbon's never had a tick here in Cornwall during the same time period, but that may be because I'm not a big one for woods. However we certainly go where there are livestock, so maybe we've just been lucky. I will ask the vet for advice when I go in for the heart worm tabs.
