Vet visits with an anxious boy

Just a little update - I’ve spoken with our vets and they are happy to work with us to help Neo to feel calmer during his visits there. He’s booked in next week for a ‘socialisation’ visit with a nurse who specialises in helping anxious patients, they will look to assess where his anxiety begins ie car park, exam room etc and then will work out a strategy from there. I’ve also bought the book on cooperative care so I can hopefully work through some things with him at home too. Thanks again for everyone’s thoughts and ideas, will see how we get on 🙂

That’s excellent! It‘s definitely paid off with Wispa. Our visits were frequent for over two years - until Covid struck. However, although those sessions haven’t continued since the first lockdown, she is so much more relaxed now and doesn’t seem to have forgotten those who have been so patient and kind to her. She still barks on arrival, but is fine in the consulting room.
I hope Neo becomes more relaxed too.

Hip hip hooray, well done @Parodius and hopefully Neo will feel more comfortable soon. I know it’s been said elsewhere, but if down the line you fancy a cooperative care club at any point (maybe a dedicated thread where we post goals and updates?) then just holler - I need to make time for it and would welcome a kick up the Khyber.
