Jackson's tonsils were touching. They were classed as the most severe level but the public waiting list was still 12-28 months public. We took him private and had them done 10 days later.OHs nephew is currently waiting to have his tonsils and adenoids removed in NZ and has been for more than a year. Of course, they could have been done in Aus when OH spoke to his parents and we noticed it was impairing his speech... But what do we know.(I digress...)
Me too!!I always decline flea treatment and health plans and don't feel the least bit guilty![]()
Yep, I get Drontal from PetDrugsOnline, and we don't use flea/tick treatment. My vets don't even push it (rather surprisingly!) - before they get the chance, I always say "he/she's been wormed recently" and they just nod, and don't mention fleas & ticks.Me too!!
We use Drontal for worming and seresto collars for fleas/ticks. Both of which you can buy at PetDrugsOnline... Works a treat!
I think that, by and large, the worming every three months is a " best practice " thing which they are professionally obliged to go by, if necessary. However, how many of them actually treat there own dogs according to the guidelines we shall never know!I always say "he/she's been wormed recently"
We’re pretty religious about it, and I would definitely forget without the vet reminder! Not sure this would be critical for health and I entirely understand people being more relaxed, but I prefer to know they’re not carrying too many parasites.I think that, by and large, the worming every three months is a " best practice " thing which they are professionally obliged to go by, if necessary. I guess in some instances the treatment plans work well - perhaps some folk would forget completely and/or are unaware of the need in te first place.
Yes, for sure, I agree it's important - they always carry a worm burden, or so I am lead to believe, and can impact human health. If there are children in the house it's especially important. I was always a stickler about my children handwashing after being around the dogs before eating -- it's obviously stayed with my daughter as I had to wait for her to do so on the farm before we nipped out for lunch!I prefer to know they’re not carrying too many parasites.
