So La Nina has been declared KAPUT! Hooray (but chances of it returning in Spring to make a triple which is very rare). We had a lovely dry June but oh dear.....here we go again. As Maxx says "Mum we need a nark"

Thanks. We are okay, just damp and the garden is a bog. I feel for people living on the flood plains though.

THanks we are fine as we are up a hill but like @MrChew I feel so sorry for those being evacuated and once again losing so much. It's like a wall of water just keeps hitting. We actually had 3 nanoseconds of sunshine today before another belt hit

Yes, thanks, it has pretty much stopped in Sydney but not for the poor North Coast. The red square is where we are - near Cronulla where that bulk carrier is in trouble just off the coast. It has a lot of fuel on board and has lost power in 11m swells. Yikes

My uncle's farm in the Hunter Valley is basically underwater and apparently his car floated off... Their house is just about okay at the moment.

How worrying for him, will it ruin his crops or is he a cattle farmer, or wine grower? Water is so very invasive and strong, I do hope his home stays safe.

It was 22 degrees at 8 this morning and now its 25 and supposed to reach 29 by afternoon . I feel so sad for all the dogs being dragged around Looe in this weather xx

More torrential rain today. Am hoping that the gurgling drains are because the wastewater system is overwhelmed, not because our plumbing is about to die while we are in isolation.
