Sydney is set to break its all-time yearly rainfall record this weekend, we are expecting 60-90mm. We are only 25mm off the record of 2194mm set in 1950. And there is still just under 3 months left of 2022

Generally Sydney has an annual average of 290 days with sun (including partly cloudy days with sunny breaks) but now I would put that closer to 2.9 days. La Nina has a lot to answer for!

Might have to move to the Northern Territory

No because OH is weird and dislikes seafood and fine dining (wtf?). But we had a nice pizza at the Pool Bar and an aaaaamazing dinner at Gwylo (lol). Oh and sneaky room service dessert from Rick Stein.
I am weird too and dislike seafood but we went for Steve's birthday as he loves it. I didn't have an entree as they were all seafood but my chicken and mushroom main - which sounds so boring - was delicious! As was the dessert. But yes, unless you are like Steve and can eat two entrees, a main and a dessert then it would be a bit of a waste

We don't like super fine-dining (such as Quay) but Rick Stein's wasn't too bad posh-wise. A bit up there but hey, it was his birthday

Glad you had a lovely time

I will just have to take Rowan fine dining when he is old enough to be civilised. I suspect he would love it. I'll have the most handsome date in every restaurant. 🤣

We've had a week of heavy rains and flooding. So many river banks broken and so many houses inundated.

One of our largest dams, Lake Eildon, is six times the size of Sydney Harbour and currently above 100% capacity. They're being forced to release some of the water to prevent the dam wall being destroyed but the towns downstream are already struggling with rising floodwaters.

We should have a couple of days of dry weather before the rain returns towards the end of the week.

We finally had some sun yesterday which was lovely as we had 4 friends for lunch. It also allowed the pool to heat a bit so today, Sunday, is so far also gloriously sunny and we had our first swim of the season! About a month later than normal due to the inclement weather

Rain is returning this arvo for yet another wet week. Bah

The flooding in Victoria is horrendous Emily, I feel so sorry for everyone who has been affected

So the Murray River is finally expected to peak in the next 24hrs. Its been over a week since the rains hit and the towns along the river have been sandbagging all week in preparation.

Meanwhile the rains are coming down in QLD, NSW and northern Victoria again. Widespread flooding is expected.
