It's pretty grim here, even by our standards, with high winds, non stop horizontal rain and now the threat of a White Easter! ( Singing 'I'm dreaming of a White Easter ' to oneself does not induce the same happy and cosy feelings as 'White Christmas ' does!) I can now see the river from the spare bedroom window, which is usually a sign that there's going to be flooding. Our house is too high up to flood, but I always worry for those down in the valley bottom. Really hoping that all the work and money that's been put into flood defences pays off this time.

Everything is crossed there is no flooding Candy. Floods are truly devastating

The cardie came out yesterday and the long trackies today. Winter is coming . It's still 23 or 24 but the wind chill makes it feel colder. Plus it's raining cats and dogs again. We have a brief respite at the end of the week with some sun and temps back close to 30 but I think that will be it. Boo

My daughter is in Rome and says it is hot, 20! We have had rain, rain, rain and more rain, wettest March for 40 years!

It definitely didn't feel like anything over 20 today. Rowan was refusing to wear socks or slippers and had to be convinced to wear long pyjamas... Our house is sooooo drafty it's almost like camping.

Of course Chewie is taking being warm very seriously. Almost like he isn't from the icy waters of Newfoundland...

We're having a weird last gasp of summer one month out from winter. 26 today and we are back in t-shirts and shorts. We put the electric blanket on the bed a week ago as it was getting really cold but then it warmed up again. It all ends soon and we'll be on the couch with blankets soon

Same here, but ours ended this arvo with rain and cooler weather. It has been a lovely week or so of mid 20s and sun though

Me neither! But it does make you appreciate summer all the more, that’s for sure

May is Alberta’s worse month for wildfires and we are starting off with a bang. We’ve had an unusually dry spring and it’s been very hot (like 30 C today). I think there’s over 70 fires burning right now, including one that is close to us.

It was about 30 minutes away but unfortunately it is windy and it’s being pushed this way. Hubby said you could see it across the river which is 5 minutes away but I’m not sure about that. No alarms or alerts or evacuation orders here but there has been alerts going off on my phone over the last few days because of fires that are all around. So it’s a bit worrying. No rain in the forecast until Saturday.

Yes me too. Right now there are fires burning within 30 minutes drive in every direction from my town (north, south, east and west). It’s going to be a very difficult weekend here in Alberta.

That bottom purple blotch is basically where I live.
