We've had an absolutely cracking autumn, it's my favourite season and probably the only season that Wellington gets right. Dawn started school on Feb 1st, she catches a bus and a train to school - she's had light drizzle in the morning twice but didn't even need to crack her umbrella. She wore her raincoat once but that was a false alarm. We enjoy it while it lasts.

That's not the Wellington I remember @Xena Dog Princess ! I mostly remember having to retrieve washing from neighbours yards, despairing of ever getting clothes dry and being blown backwards down Willis Street. Owning an umbrella meant you were an optimist because they invariably get blown inside out. On a nice day, however, it is the one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to.

Our autumn so far has been extreme. This time last week we had flooding rain and we were wearing slippers and fleeces. Today it is sunny and 27 and we just had a swim in the pool. 🤷‍♀️

Today would be great drying weather if it wasn’t for the rain!

It’s sunny and windy - but showery. I’ve washed Tatze’s big blanket and hung it out but I’m keeping a close eye on the weather so that I can run out and bring it in if necessary.

We have sunshine but windy, that'll do me! xx
We have too - and it makes me happy because the wind is drying the grass and OH will get to do the first grass cut this year...and it's desperate. Unfortunately the tip is shut and we have nowhere for a compost heap so we'll have to store the stinking, rotting cuttings in bin bags...but that's OK...as long as we get the grass cut.

We’ve got grass with lockdown locks!

Echo made a mess of it. Not by digging but with his big paws skidding around while playing. So we have re-seeded the bare patches but that means we can’t cut the grass. It’s a mess!

Echo has left his mark in the garden in another way too - he’s destroyed my two mature clematis plants by chewing them off at the bottom. This went unnoticed by me until today, when I looked for new leaf growth - none!

Every pup leaves a legacy of destruction!

We walked in just a light sweater and no coat, and stayed just about on the right side of warm enough by Bear's antics.

Apart from five minutes in an empty field, it was an on lead walk for Bear, both short and long lead. My fitbit records the first 30 minutes of my walking him on the shorter line as 'sport'. Hah. That's open to interpretation . Who needs a running machine when you've got a Bear on a lead
