What greeted me this morning. Ho hum.

Right now (mid-afternoon) it’s 8 C so it’s melting.

Currently 8.8 deg C here & blowing a hoolie. The doors are rattling.

But right now (early afternoon) it’s currently 12C and sunny. All the snow that fell yesterday has melted. I’ll take Simba out for a long walk this afternoon and then hunker down and batten down the hatches for the storm. Springtime in Alberta!!

Not looking too foul here either. A light jacket is now needed for morning and evening but the days are still lovely. Still swimming! But that is mainly thanks to the solar heating

Timaru (South Island) reached 30 degrees today. We got 20 in Wellington which is honestly amazing. 30 degrees anywhere in NZ in April is wild and not a great sign for the environment. Map for context.

Been a sprinkling of snow here overnight, or maybe hail, looks a little polystyrene-y.
Can tell as it was minus one this morning on rising. Beautiful sun but supposed to be windy later.

A spot of snow here too, also similar to polystyrene. Was hoping to have my friend Fiona round later to sit in the garden and help me finish off the remains of a chocolate cheesecake but it might be a bit chilly!

We had rain in the night. It's now glorious sunshine and a biting wind. The rain water settled in the top of the recycling bin lid had frozen. The dead branch on next door's apple tree has snapped and blown into our garden. Hopefully this wind will dry the grass & I can get it cut again later. I'll also get the towels out on the line for the first time since Winter.
