Drizzle last night only here would love some rain

Drizzle and damp today. Well it is the first week of the Manx Grand Prix, it was bound to be wet

I let Joy out into the garden thismorning and found two leaves on the table, 'Proving that Autumn gropes for us', as Elizabeth Jennings wrote.
Back to bed with a pot of tea!

Proper Rain yesterday

We had proper rain during the night - unfortunately our back lawn won’t recover from the heat but pleased the suffering plants, bushes and trees have had some water

Ah, our "lawn" is OK. There are brown spots, but that's Dog wee, otherwise it's lush and requiring cutting every week. It's getting plenty of dew in the mornings, I go out in bare feet and the grass is sopping.

A little bit more rain during the night and some forecast for tomorrow. Too late for the lawn and not sure what we are going to do about that. Front lawn will recover I think. Hanging baskets are over now as hosepipe ban and south facing sun finished them off. Ironically the trees have grown massively over the dry months and we have tree surgeons coming later in the year - we are in a conservation area so have to have permission to reduce their height - it’s taking time!!!
