Weird lump

Aw man he is adorable. ❤

Could you not put a bandage over his paw so he can’t scratch the stitches? When Snowie had stitches on his eyelid, the vet made a “boxing glove” over his paw to prevent him pulling the stitches out. No cone was worn.

That might work… but he’s basically part worm 🐛 — loves wriggling against the couch, the carpet, the grass, the sidewalk… I wouldn’t trust him 😅

I’ve booked him in for the 10th recovery day to have his sutures removed, so 6 more nights to go, but who’s counting. I just hope they will be ready to be removed and not taken out prematurely. But I’m sure they will know if it will be too soon!
We’re all counting down with you! 😅

With Snowie’s eyelid stitches, the vet actually said they needed to be removed to speed up the healing. She said leaving them in too long slowed down the healing process. They were dissolvable, but she preferred to take them out. I wish I could remember the length of time they were in, sorry! Possibly a week, but I really can’t remember for sure.

I got Hugo’s biopsy results back this morning — it was a benign growth called a hemangioma. Such a relief! I did miss the vet’s call, and by the time I called back she was in surgery, so I haven’t been able to ask any follow-up questions yet.

From what I’ve read, these can sometimes be caused by trauma, so if I’m right that it started after he got clawed by Gizmo, that might explain it. I am feeling a little anxious because he’s still so young to be growing lumps otherwise — but fingers crossed a trauma was the start of it.

Either way, this is definitely a happy update, and in just a few more days we’ll be cone-free and back to enjoying summer!
