What has your dog done that temporarily stopped your heart?

Well, there was Wispa swimming further and further from the shore on one of her early trips to the beach in Scotland. Then there was Tuppence and the dishwasher episode. I think my mind has blocked out everything else to save my sanity...

Possibly the worst that springs to mind was many years ago when we first had our Tibetan terrier and he was out in the garden with my children. The boys were playing on the wooded bank and Rufus wriggled under the fence and got down onto the railway line which runs past our garden. My husband rushed round and climbed over the bridge and eventually caught him further along the line, not before the police had been told that there was a man on the line... Fortunately it’s not a busy line and my husband knew the times of the trains. He and the dog were soon safely home, although it seemed to take ages. The railway company then inspected and renewed the fence.

Tonight - Benson was in the kitchen snuffling around. He then trotted proudly into the front room carrying the packaging for a tube of UHU glue. @Mr Beanwood had been glueing some new gear stick gaiters on our old discovery. In panic, I checked that Benson was OK and could actually open his mouth! :shock:He was perfectly fine, Mr Beanwood though is not....
